What's not to like?
Strong enough to haul deadfall out of my woods, and that's all I need it for. Opens to 17", but if something is that big, I'll probably be chainsawing it where it sits. I just have a UTV. Impressive quality for the price.

Great log hooks
I purchased these after seeing many for over $100 bucks. I was pleasantly surprised. I used them to off load 6 railroad ties from cargo trailer. They did the job.

Work great with tractor and boom pole
They work great for lifting logs and skidding them out of the forest. In my experience they don’t like to bite in unless you get some lift on the logs before pulling them. (Which is fine for me as I use a book pole and a tractor with 3 point hitch)One annoying thing about them is that the paint coating has to wear off before they work at peak performance. Other than that I have no complaints.

Works for me...
This is a good tool for the money. Some reviewers say this tool "broke" ... well maybe they were trying to pull a stump with it or maybe they were using a huge tractor and the log they were dragging got hung up on something, but I can't imagine how you could ever break these tongs under normal use. If the log you're dragging is the correct diameter (17" or less) and it's free to slide along on the ground, then these tongs aren't likely to "break". Connected to the draw bar on our Kubota B8200, they worked perfectly for moving the dozens of fallen ash logs we had lying around in our woods. They certainly beat the heck out kneeling in the mud trying to get a chain wrapped around a log and I expect they will outlast me ...

I didn't have much luck first time out.
I didn't have much luck first time using these tongs. They would not lock on the log. After repeatedly trying I gave up and went back to my chains. I thought the tongs would speed up my work progress but the opposite was true. Maybe I can find some other use for them.
