Portland Design Works Bar-Ista Coffee Cup Holder

Excellent product. Poor Amazon shipping. Shipped in a bag instead of a box. Holder was slightly oblong instead of circular. Inside Allen screws had sharp edges, had to sand them smooth. Besides these problems the holder is superior to other competing products.

First, this is a solid build for sure. It comes in handy when boogying down to the local bakery / coffee shop.

Firstly: this thing is well-made and heavier-duty than I expected. My only complaint (and you can hardly call it that) is that the cup holder can only attach to horizontal bars. I got a new e-bike and the handlebars are a bit crowded so I wish I could mount this on my steering column. Hardly worth taking away the star but I thought it was worth mentioning.

This is one of three handlebar cup holders I use. The other is a generic that is very similar in looks an dimensions to this PDW, and the other is from Delta Cycles that is slightly smaller diameter, and resembles a plastic water bottle cage with a silicone band tensioning the two "wings."I've got nothing bad to say about this. It mounts easily and securely.I ordered up a total of 7 travel mugs to find "the perfect one" that works well with all three of my handlebar cup holders, and ended up keeping the Zojirushi SM-YAE48XA ASIN B01077GFV8. Seems like a nice cupholder but it's too big for my bars, which it's supposed to fit. When tightened fully the cupholder still slides around. I measured my bars with a caliper, they are 22.6mm, within the range advertised.

Perfect! Fits standard bars fine. I have a mountain bike/street bike hybrid with stock bars and it fits perfectly. Super easy installation (not rocket science). I think what possibly confuses some people is that as you tighten the bracket, it shifts/slides into position. I can see how it may give the illusion of being too small at first, but trust me, this standard size will fit nearly all bars (unless you have some crazy custom job with super thick bars). I nearly ordered the larger size, but am happy I didn't. Cup holder also is very sleek and stylish! *Noteworthy: It will not hold cups that are not tapered. If ordering a resusable mug/thermos it MUST be either tapered or just under the exact circumference of the holder. Otherwise, it will slip through and the pavement will be quenched. Holds standard "to go" coffee cups perfectly, as well as larger iced coffee/smoothie cups. Awesome!

Be aware of what size your handlebars are, this did not fit my bike (my fault, I overlooked the size).Like all things from PDW, it is well constructed, feels solid.. good design.. I just wish the bracket was like their seatpost bracket so it could fit any size (why they didn't do this, I don't know), you need a pretty narrow handlebar for the one sold through amazon. In the end, I mounted mine to a tree branch in my yard and now have a convenient coffee cup holder out there, pretty cool.

I use this on my walker and get comments on it all the time. The piece that goes around the bar is really made for a bike which is bigger, but I was able to pad it and get it to stay in place. I love it!!

Another decent product from Portland Design Works. I also have purchased a rear carrier and both products are exceptional quality.

Bought this for my vintage bike, was able to easily assemble and fit it to the handlebars. The quality is great and very sturdy being able to cycle (including uneven footpaths) with a large keep cup without spilling anything.
