Superficial and Sparse, Lazy Work
I picked up this book (the series actually) to prepare for a job interview as a Java Developer. When I opened the book for the first time, I realized that I had been duped once again by these authors who write 120 page books with large margins in font size 21. There is such little content in this book that (1) you can probably get through it in 1-2 hours if you have any programming experience, and (2) you won't really learn much about any of the topics in enough depth to be useful in practice. Lesson learned: read the sample pages before ordering any book on Amazon. To be fair, paying $3 for the kindle version as a very fast read might be worth it, but don't waste your money on the paperback copy. Honestly, even if it were free, I still wouldn't invest the time to read it. I'm returning these right away.I know this sounds harsh, but that's my opinion. I'm tired of authors putting out poor quality and lazy work on Amazon.

Great tool!
That's an Excellent Book.Developer/Programmer should have this book in their tool kit. If you like coding, definitely you like this book. For building your problem solving, it is very good. There are detailed instructions, a parts list, schematic and picture of the board. I like that there was an emphasis on best way of coding. I also like how they explained in detail how to solve a problem. I bet it is worth to buy! high quality. All the best,

These books remind me of Cliff Notes!!!
Does anyone remember Cliff Notes? Yes, it was often used in lieu of reading the actual book, but some of us used Cliff Notes to gain insight into a particular work. It was the only way I came to understand Shakespeare! This book to me is like the Cliff Notes of Java Programming ESPECIALLY if you're coming into the subject with Zero Understanding. It's easy to read and isn't bogged down in too much jargon. It makes the world of programming accessible!

This is a great book to progress to once you finished the first book in the series
This is a great book to progress to once you finished the first book in the series, as this is an intermediate level book to further concepts of Java which was learned in the first book. As with all the other books authored by Nathan Clarke, this book to is full of practical examples to strengthen learning by doing. A great book for anyone interested in programming.

Informative
This second book in this author's Java series gives step-by-step instructions with examples in a range of situations. Methods and proper syntax are made easier to follow as examples are shown all along the way. This book will help you learn by doing from defining methods and parameters to input and output. It's worth reading and keeping for future reference.

Java book 2 is worth it.
Another great book in the series. From methods to practice, the book really helps at the core fundamentals of Java programming. I am an Information Technology major. Meaning a majority of the time this is what I am going to run into. Lets put it this way if I needed a reference or a re-look I would come to Nathan's book.

Great Step-By-Step Instructions
The book was very step-by-step, which I really appreciated. I picked this one up because I'd read Nathan's coding guide on C#. In this book, he uses the same proven approach. He is very thorough with his explanations. Thanks for the help, Nathan!
