Styles well
I like this product. It gets the job done.

Don’t use a lot at once.
I have thick wavy hair and this is good to make them pop more. Doesn’t leave your hair crunchy and you don’t have to use a lot unless you have extra long hair. Leaves your hair soft and with nice healthy look

Watery
Rather watery, kind of like putting hand lotion in your hair. Not the best results.

Not perfect, but an affordable option
I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, but for the price it’s a good option. I was worried it was going to be too thick or clumpy, but it’s not. It’s pretty light and the hold is fairly minimal but it is good when combined with something like a light hairspray to lock it in place. I love the Aveda liquid pomade but it’s super expensive. This provides a very affordable alternative that isn’t nearly as good, but passable. It’s the best option I have found. Better than the pomade or cream for sure.

Terrible
I was hoping this would be a replacement for the Mess Maker Power Putty that Garnier discontinued. It's not. This goes on so wet that I had to dry my hair a second time. For me, it's a waste of money. I've been trying to mix it with other products, so that I can still get use out of it, but that's a stretch. I'm giving two stars instead of one, because it is called liquid putty...so I'll take some of the blame for not assuming it would be so wet.

Watery and useless
This stuff is the worst hair product I have ever used. It literally comes out of the bottle like water. Absolutely zero hold and my hair turned poofy. This completely ruined my hair for the day.I am a mid 30 year old male - and now I'm known around the office as "birds nest'. Thanks Garnier 😡

My son liked it
As someone who keeps his hair pretty short, I typically use either a 'style stick' or, when it gets a bit longer, some super-strong hold gel. I've used the same products for nearly 25 years, so I don't venture outside the lines much. That said, my teenage son recently decided he was going to let his hair grow out. He is 'adverse' to using ANY product in his hair, because he does not like having it feel stiff or sticky or greasy. However, I thought this Garnier "Fructis" style "Matte and Messy" liquid hair putty might work well for him. Finally, I got him to let me try to help tame the nest.Honestly, this didn't take much -- maybe the size of a nickel, and he has a decent head of hair right now. We didn't want anything stiff or shiny or whatever -- just something to add a little control. This 'putty' left his hair manageable, but still looking soft and natural. Using a brush and hair dryer, we were able to 'shape' his hair. Honestly, it came out looking really good and he was pretty happy! He still has a spot in the back that grows the opposite direction from how he wants it to lay, but I was able to fix that with a squirt or two of spray gel. This putty was not strong enough, alone, to hold that spot down.In the end, this may be the one product my son allows to be used in his hair. It's a bit fruity smelling, but probably okay for teenage boys. For men I'd like something a bit more natural smelling, or not smelly at all, but that's just preference. This product was easy to use and left his hair looking good. If that's what it takes for him to let me use it, then this is a winning product! :)

Keeps hair styled, but not glued in place
My husband had a hair creme that he used to love, but they quit manufacturing it. So he's tried all sorts of hair products to fill the void. From hair putty to gel to pomade to all sorts of stuff, there just hasn't been a good replacement--until now. He likes that this "putty" is lightweight and spreads easily. It keeps his hair fairly well styled without making it feel like thick glue. It is scented, but not overly heavy on scent.
