Blackburn Zayante Bicycle Bag

This is one of the largest bags out there that hangs under the seat without sticking back too far. I have had one bag split at a top side seam but it was replaced with the largest unit now made by Blackburn. I am able to carry two tubes, tire lifters, multi-tool, CO2 inflator and my smart phone in the main compartment and use the side bags for cash/credit card and glass cleaners. The screws to install the hanger under the seat are too large and I have used slightly smaller screws to make it work. Unfortunately, this bag is no longer made by Blackburn so I will probably buy one or more spare bags to replace the two I am now using on both road bikes.

The bag appears to be cheaply made. I hope it holds up to the rigors of mtn bikingI like the quick release mechanism.

Very roomy and expandable. Have been using this bag for two years now and it still looks almost new. There are no tears, stitching look great, and the zippers work perfectly. On long rides, I'm able to fit tools, spare tube, patch kit, wallet, phone, and a front flasher in the bag. On my daily 25 mile rides, I only pack my wallet, phone, and a front flasher. I ride mainly late afternoon and it's safer to call my wife in case of a flat than to fix it on the road and ride home in the dark. Since my route never takes me farther than 8 miles from my house, I find it more convenient to fix the flat at home. In over two years of riding, I've only had three flats. Once I walked home (2 miles) and the other two times I called my wife.Initially, I had ordered the medium sized version of this bag but decided to return it in favor of this one. The medium sized bag would have been perfect for my daily closer to home rides.

I like this bag because it mounts back and away from the seat post. It is completely out of the way some expensive bike shorts don't wear through from rubbing on a velcro attachment strap. A great feature for those with thicker thighs!

Just the right size (Micro-bag) that has held up to water, mud, dirt also known as Trail abuse. Tough, great product. Highly recommended.

This bag features quick-release, bellows-type expansion of the lower third, as well as two side pockets.Quick-release.......works well!The exterior of the bag is made of a tough nylon-type material. It seems as though the exterior fabric will give long service.The cheap fabric that forms the expansion bellows and the pocket lining is so cheap that the fabric inside of the pockets has worn through just from normal rubbing of the items in the bag.I would never trust this bag in the expanded mode because the side bellows are made of the same cheap and thin material. Once that wears through, there goes everything in the bag......out on the road. And the side "pockets" are merely side entrances now because the pocket lining is shot. Anything I put in the side "pocket" falls directly into the main chamber.Buy this bag if you want an easily detachable bag with a single chamber that has one rear and two side zipper entrances.Do NOT buy this bag if you are attracted by claims of expandability or if you think you can use the separate pockets.BTW: I've had this bag less than one month......about 750kM.UPDATE: Feb 2013Now I've had this bag for not quite 2 months. Not only is the interior fabric coming apart, the exterior fabric is too. The upper seam (where the bag attaches to the quick-connect system) has 3 inch tears on both sides. Not bad stitching.......the fabric is spontaneously self-destructing.I have an older Blackburn saddle bag that I've had on my bikes for 13 years. It's still going strong. I just wanted something a little bit bigger. So I went with Blackburn because of their "quality". Well, that quality is there no more.DO NOT buy this BLACKBURN ZAYANTE under-saddle bag. It's pure junk.

Unfortunately I'm now on my third bag of this model. The first one lasted about 9 months. It got holes in the top where the support structure began to wear through the nylon outer shell. My second one also started to develop this problem, but today the whole upper side seam let go, spewing items onto the pavement. The bag was not overloaded. Also, the waterproof zipper started to shed bits of rubber while the pack was quite new. In addition, the clip was very difficult to fasten to the seat rails. (The provided screws were super-hard to tighten without stripping the heads). This bag has a great shape (long and narrow) and the perfect size for my tools, tubes, and energy bars. The side pockets are especially handy. Having a clip vs. straps is handy when moving the pack from bike to bike. It's a real shame they don't last.

An sich ein gutes Produkt, aber es lässt sich leider sehr schwer abnehmen. Ich muss es immer als ganzes hoch nehmen.

Decided to return this as the shape was awkward and didn't really have any faith in how well the securing point would hold it in place.

Qualità ottima ed impermeabile al 100%.Si fissa velocemente e rimane perfettamente stabile.Risulta abbastanza capiente (ci sta anche uno smartphone)ed inoltre ha una taschina cucita dalla parte dell'apertura utile per mettere le chiavi della macchina.Amazon impeccabile come sempre!!!
