Detour Smart Nutrition Bars, Cranberry Flax, 1.3 oz, 9 Count

I like the blueberry and apple bars a lot (even yummier if kept in the fridge), and I decided to order a box, rather than schlep to Bed, Bath, and Beyond with a stack of coupons. I saw the cranberry flax on Amazon and thought they would be delicious, but it was the wrong flavor to experiment with. They are extremely tart and bitter, and they don't even taste a lot like cranberry to me. Even though it's not listed in the ingredients, I get a distinct orange rind taste and aftertaste that really lingers. If you like orange zest or cranberry orange muffins, you might like these, but I am really regretting I ordered them.Also, these are not vegetarian, in case you were wondering. They do contain gelatin, though the manufacturer's website says it's non-porcine. I may give up the other flavors, too, which I am bummed about, because I loved having them for breakfast :(

Arrived as described, but I am not a fan of the flavor. I was hoping for more of a cranberry flavor but it is overshadowed by the flax seeds.

If you like date and raisin taste you will like this. Not very sweet. More like a Kashi bar but moister. I wanted to try them since they were high in protein. I eat protein bars a lot and prefer more of a chocolate/fruit taste.

A bit of a bitter taste....the blueberry bars are much better!

Protein to calorie ratio is good if you can tolerate the flavor. I would not buy these again. Very tart with sharp aftertaste. The blueberry and apple flavors are very good though.

Low sugar, high protein and fiber, limited ingredients. I tried these at the grocery store and loved them, but then they stopped stocking them. Thank goodness for Amazon.

Very tasty and filling - I love the cranberry as it keeps these from being overly sweet. A great, quick breakfast with 10g of protein per bar.

Good taste! Doesn't taste like cardboard! Kind of a nice granola-like bar with a good proportion of protein/carb/calorie ratio. The cranberry is a nice fruity/sweet choice.
