Paint Lab for Kids (Lab Series)

I'm a full time K-6 public school art teacher and I love this book! Full color photos, detailed, easy to follow instructions are all great. But what I love most is with each project is an article and example of the art and artist who inspired it. I always try to include that in my art lessons and I love that Stephanie included the same in her book.

Easy to follow instructions and imaginative art projects. Just make sure your little one is more focused on the process rather than result. To my mind, many of the projects do require some training and skills to make the output look as pictured.Also, be sure you have enough time to spend helping your young artist here and there as younger children most probably would not complete the excersizes on their own. Well, at least my 5 yo couldn’t, though she takes art classes.Most of the projects involve acrilic paint which personally I do not like that much. Still, it is possible to use gouache instead, it works just fine.All in all, it is a great inspiration book that teaches some art tricks and develops imagination.

Wonderful instructors tool. I do camps in the summer for "artists" ranging from 3rd graders to 8th graders. This book is a useful tool for ALL ages...lots of different media. I'm a huge fan of water colors, and theres tons of things you can do with them in this book. Very well written...tons of pictures and examples from professional artists and beginners.

This is a good resource to get ideas for leading art projects with kids. I have been using it for little art lessons with my six- and eight-year-old grandsons. There are some nice projects to do with them that teach basic art skills while allowing for creativity. I would recommend it for anyone who is teaching art to elementary school aged children.

This is a wonderful book. It was purchased for my 10-year-old budding artist granddaughter, and I know that she will love it. I especially like the wide variety of ideas and the beautifully illustrated step-by-step instructions. My favorite part of the book is the Aspiring Artist section, in which an artist who typifies a particular technique is briefly described and a sample of her work is presented. This helps children connect creativity with actual artists and their careers. This is truly a splendid book.

I love the Paint Lab books, great projects. Even if a project is not exactly what you want, you can use to create a project that is more suitable for your purposes.

Gift for my sister for her three boys- we all love arts and crafts but this helps with ideas and makes it so much easier to find inspiration! Thanks!!!

My 6 year old granddaughter and I used this resource for our summer art projects. We really enjoyed it.

I bought this for the kids, but am tempted to keep it for myself. Lovely Book.

Es un libro muy bueno, me gustaría haberlo encontrado en español, pero aun en inglés es muy fácil de manejar una actividad nueva por semana si lo quieres manejar así, ideas fáciles de ejecutar, los materiales no son tan difíciles de conseguir si en verdad estas interesado en involucrar a tus hijos con el arte

As someone who runs art programming for the young and old, and is an artist himself, I have to say I throughly enjoy this authors series of books. It gets my own creative juices flowing as well as offering good ideas for programs / projects.This book in particular is great for art programming, with fun ideas that well described and easy methodology.

I did not expect the kind of happiness it gave to my 7 yr old niece, she got super excited to use the book to learn different techniques. I hope the book really helps her the way she thinks it is going to.
