Demeta knows her stuff while also partaking in the arduous task of converting it into layman's terms.This book is brilliant for those who want to do a deep dive into traditional astology and all it's principles.So many interesting but unfamiliar concepts in hellenistic astology that I would never have know if it wasn't for this book.Under the beam...Sets....Ruler of the nativity are just a few of the concepts not used in modern astology.Hellenistic astology is much more about prediction than psychology. So if that is the direction you want your astology to go then this is worth the purchase.

Excellent introductory textbook / workbook for traditional astrology
Demetra George is really one the best astrologers of our time. This book is a summation of her decades of teaching experience. This book is a very gradual no-nonsense introduction to and textbook of traditional astrology. It focuses primarily on the Hellenistic tradition. It is in rather a workbook format, which I find extremely helpful. Most books on traditional astrology are either a translation of works by original author, which is very hard reading for modern students. Or just expert books written for people already versed in modern astrology. This book presupposes no prior knowledge of astrology, modern or traditional.

Have read it now for the 3rd time and every time I learn something new. Warmly recommend and can’t wait for Vol. II.

Demetra George’s manual on traditional tequniques
It’s a book I’ve been waiting for for quite a while - Demetria George’s book on ancient astrology, this weighty tome is part one, part two to follow. It is written in the manner of ‘Astrology for Yourself’ with exercises after each section which really helps the reader to grasp what is a very complicated, but immensely rewarding subject.
