Great Book
I gave this book five stars because it was an experience. It was filled with emotions that everyone can relate . The book gives you the spiritual direction rather you are a baby I'm CHRIST or a seasoned Warrior. I recommend it to anyone who is struggling with their journey with CHRIST.😊

Awesome book! As with the 'Cling Series', I was on an emotional high. Felt as though I was in bible study and experiencing all emotions as I read. Love, Love, Love KCT.

Uplifting, Enlightening & A True Blessing
I've always been an avid reader, so once I began to explore my spirituality I turned to Christian fiction. I love stories that have a purpose and a connection to God. Lately, however, I've been yearning for something deeper than the standard Christian fare. That's why I'm so excited about Heavenly Places. This book went way beyond my expectations. From the first few lines in the "Foreword," I knew this book would be special. Once I began the story itself, it kept me glued to the pages as I first judged, then sympathized, then empathized with the main character, Treva. It made me laugh as I celebrated with the women's bible study group and cry as each layer of a character's past (and present) pain was unraveled. It also made me yearn to get into my bible more and have the intimate experience that was so superbly detailed in the book. It also connected me to some of the issues from my past relating to skin color and self-esteem while also allowing me to understand and accept how each person's Christian journey is different and designed just for them. It's amazing that one book could do so much - - but this book did. I encourage everyone to read it, think about it deeply, and share it with a friend. I guaranteed that you will be uplifted, enlightened, and blessed! Thank you Kim Cash Tate for sharing this story with the world. I can't wait to read your next novel!

A wonderful story and a Bible Study all in one!
Heavenly Places is a beautiful story with many powerful themes. In the story, we follow the main character’s transformation as she studies the biblical book of Ephesians. In the story, Kim Cash Tate masterfully captures the meaning of the scriptures and, through the life of the fictional characters, teaching how those scriptures can be applied. The characters are so realistic and relatable. Readers can clearly see the life changing effects of God’s Word in operation. I loved every minute of this book!

Great read, make you think.
I must admit that some of the issues that it dealt with as far as employment and race goes were very deep. But being this is an African American woman writing this, I really could relate to it since I'm AA myself. But more importantly what touched me the most about this book is that, you have to trust God with all your might, not one glimmer of doubt. Also it touched on success and money equaling to being happy and everyone has to have their own litmus test of being happy. Even though the main character thought success was one, thing, God slowly was changing her mindset and it took her to move back to her hometown and be around a group of women for a Bible Study for that to open her mind. I even want to start to Study the Book of Ephesians myself. This book has shown me that even though you're Christian doesn't mean that you have everything together, and it doesn't certainly mean that you're going to understand everything test that God sends your way. My co-worker is the one that even told me about this great author and now I'm hooked on her for life!

Excellent on Many Levels
"Heavenly Places" tells the story of Treva Langston, whose identity is tied up in being a successful attorney to make up for what she feels are her less-than-desirable looks, particularly her skin color. I am as different from Treva as a person could be - I am a white, Catholic, legal secretary, but the story of how Treva comes to know that God loves even her really spoke to me. The book works on many levels - there's the story of Treva and her family, the story of the Bible study group that Treva reluctantly joins and the issues each of these very different women face, and last but hardly least, the Bible study itself - I started reading Ephesians and trying to follow along where they were because just the snippets of study they were doing were so interesting! I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in (a) Christian fiction, (b) "group" books (where a group of women do something - pray, knit, read, whatever, and get to know each other), or (c) Bible studies. Or any reader, actually - this is one of my favorite books and I think there's something almost anyone can take from it.

A True Blessing
I love Kim Cash Tate. I honestly didn't know that good African American Christian fiction existed until I got a free copy of Faithful on kindle about a year ago. Up until then, I read Christian fiction that I enjoyed, but I knew wasn't written with me, or other black females, in mind. I still enjoyed the stories, but I couldn't see myself in the characters' lives. But Kim's book provided me with strong characters that I could relate to. I love her writing style and her stories. Since reading Faithful, I have devoured every book that Kim has written. This one has to be my favorite. Her other books are uplifting, and a bit on the lighter side. This one was really bold and deep. It is a powerful book, that touches on several important issues. It left me crying, and rejoycing, along with the characters at times. I love this book, and I know that I will read it over and over again.

Inspiring, Fab read - She needs to write another one soon
This is one of the few Christian novels I've read that both entertained and enlightned. It wasn't preachy and the storyline was good. This is a debut novel that held my attention throughout - I'm waiting anxiously for the next one.

Lots of good teaching but that's what it does best
I feel like I'm reading a devotional, certainly not a novel. It's pretty heavy-handed and not especially literary. But for a devotional it's easy to follow and has very specific examples!
