Great Little Timer!
This is an excellent little digital timer.> Physical DesignThe unit has a simple, no-nonsense square design with rounded control buttons. The large main LCD display is not backlit, but is easy to read if there is enough light in the room. A recessed "Master Reset" button, and a red LED for relay enable, round out the face. The two outlets take up the bottom flanks of the unit, below the line of the controls.> ClockThe core clock is reasonably accurate - about as good as any quartz clock. My specific unit is accurate within a little better than one minute in one month. It can only display or operate in 24-hour time - there are no provisions for AM/PM display at all.The timer does NOT use the power line as a timebase, in order to easily facilitate the battery back up system. This reduces accuracy slightly. The label claims up to 120 days of reserve power. I have not tested this. However, all functions aside from actually energizing the outputs work perfectly fine when on battery, which makes sense.> Outputs/RelayThe main internal relay, according to the label, can handle almost all loads at up to the limit of a common outlet circuit at 125v15A, except for incandescent lamps - their very high inrush prompts a limit of only 10A, or 1250W.There are two grounded outlets, one on each side, making this little timer very versatile for finding ways to connect things.> Timing FeaturesThis is, of course, the headline feature of a timer. You have twenty available, independent start/stop programs, that can be mapped across different weekdays - every day, every weekday, both weekends, any individual day, all days except Sunday, Mon/Wed/Fri, Tue/Thur/Sat, Mon/Tue/Wed, or Thur/Fri/Sat.Different programs can overlap. The relay will follow whatever event last occurred. You can also override the programs by commanding the output to be either on or off until the next opposing command, or disable the program and force the output on or off.> How To UseI know that others have offered a "manual" for the timer here in the reviews, but just in case I end up near the top, here is my take on how to use your timer. I found it quite easy to use.>> Setting the ClockTo set the clock, press and hold the "Clock" button, then press "Week", "Hour", and "Minute" to advance each respective indication to the current day and time, and "Delete" to advance the seconds. Be advised, this unit does not have "hacking", so the clock keeps running the whole time you are setting it.>> Changing Time Modes, Temporary OverrideTo override the current output mode, press "Mode" to cycle through the following."ON AUTO" turns on the outputs until the next programmed turn-off."AUTO OFF" turns the outputs off until the next programmed turn-on.These also display to help you see at a glance whether the outputs are on or off on program, along with the relay light, and remain displayed and settable even in program mode."ON" or "OFF" without AUTO disables the timer features, and keeps the outputs either on or off.* If "ON" or "ON AUTO" is displayed, but the relay light is extinguished, your timer has no power. Check the outlet it's plugged into. If you're setting it while holding it in your hand, this is normal.>> Programming the TimerProgramming this thing is intuitive. I actually recommend unplugging it and holding it to set the program where you can easily manipulate the controls and see the display. Then plug it back in where you want it when done.Press 'Prog' to enter the programming menu. The small number on the left is the program number. Press "Prog" to cycle through all 20 programs. If the time says --:--, this event is available, otherwise it'll tell you what times this event is set for.The "On" and "Off" beside the program counter tells you whether you are setting the relay on time or the relay off time. These events are completely independent of each other, although the timer may act unpredictably if you set an "on" and "off" to happen at exactly the same time.Press the "Week" button to shift between the available day-of-week programs; every day, every weekday, both weekends, any individual day, all days except Sunday, Mon/Wed/Fri, Tue/Thur/Sat, Mon/Tue/Wed, or Thur/Fri/Sat.Press "Hour" and "Minute" to set the desired hour and minute for this event.Pressing "Delete" will erase this event. Be advised that deleting an "on" time does not automatically delete the corresponding "off" time, and vice versa.Press "Clock" by itself, or wait about fifteen seconds without pushing anything, to return to the clock screen.Pressing the recessed "R" button will erase everything, including the current time.

Works Great, instructions???? (I give you instructions on how to easily get this done - read below)
The product is great as I can turn off appliances such as Xfinity (110 watts/hr savings), heating system (20 watts/hr savings), printer (10 watts/hr savings) or whatever is not being used at night with ease as the reliability appears to be great. The only issue is that the instructions are difficult to understand since they were written by a Chinese person that does not know English very well. Hereafter is the ideal instruction after you set the on and off times with the program key. You must push the MODE key. Understanding the MODE key affects the functionality as follows:MODE key has four settings:1: ON (stays on consistently without the timer portion of device operating)2: ON and AUTO Showing. This means the system is providing energy to the plugged-in device. The device will "automatically turn off" when the OFF time you entered in the program key is crossed over.3: OFF (stays OFF consistently without the timer portion of device operating)2: OFF and AUTO Showing. This means the system is NOT providing energy to the plugged-in device. The device will "automatically turn on" when the ON time you entered in the program key is crossed over.NOTE: When the device is supplying energy to the plugged-in device, a red indicator light will be shown. This light turns off when no energy is being supplied.

Nice timer for a great price
I tried the timer and it works fine. The setup is pretty simple, even though the instructions have a lot of broken English sentences. It is a little bit of a pain that you have to go through all of the "On-Off Programs" from Number 1 and up when you want to adjust any of them (there are 20 possible programs). For example, if you want to change Program #7, you have to go through Programs #1 through #6 even if they are to remain unchanged. You do not have to program all 20 Programs, only the ones you want to use.I particularly like the "random" function that turns on the timer outlet at each program start time but turns it off after a random period ranging from 10 - 60 minutes. Without this feature, I probably would never use all 20 programs. I would probably set a daily schedule to run for an hour or 2 in the morning and then 2 or 4 hours in the evening. However, I can see setting 20 start times throughout the week knowing that the stop times will be random. This feature would really make the house look occupied while we are on vacation.

KEEPS TIME DURING POWER OUTAGES
I have 2 homes and when we’re gone from a home, it’s important to have the lights in certain rooms come on (& go off) at the set times. Problem is both places are pretty subject to power outages. These timers have been a game changer! When the power comes back on, the times are still set and the lights are perfect. I leave them plugged in even when we’re home so I know they’re ready to go when we leave. Set up was easy, and I’m no tech wizard. No more calling neighbors to go reset my timers - YAY!

This is an easy to use timer
I am impressed with the quality and it was so easy to set up! The instructions also mentioned it will hold the set up even if the power goes out which happens in the area I live at. I chose the timer with 2 plugs and is working perfectly for growing plants. I would certainly recommend this timer and vendor.

Timer is easy to set if you set it up in 24 hour mode
It makes way more sense to set the timer in 24 hour mode, when set in the 12 hour mode you could not tell if you say for example: set the timer to come on at 9am and off at 9pm, there is no am/pm option for on/off times , only am and pm for current time, but say for example you set the timer to 24 hour mode and then set the on/off time in 24hour time 09:00-21:00 there is no confusion about what is am and what is pm. If you want the timer to come on at the same time as shut off time example 9am on 9pm off and you don’t use 24 hour mode the timer will turn what is plugged into it on, but never automatically shut off what’s plugged into it because it thinks that your on and off times are both am or both pm, but using 24 hour mode fixes this problem because 24 hour mode doesn’t need the time to say am or pm because 24 hour time uses numbers to differentiate between am and pm 09:00(am) and 21:00(pm) in 12 hour time that is 9am-9pm. it’s not complicated to set up the timer if using 24 hour mode.I also like the fact that this timer has a backup battery, if for some reason the power goes off temporarily when the power comes back on I don’t have to reset the timer.

Works as described
I'm a 69 year old female and it took me about 15 minutes to program this timer by reading the instructions. Had no issues and it works great for my 2 Grow Lights which are set for 1 timed on/off setting 7 days of week so was pretty simple. Will try it for awhile and see how it works before purchasing another for my aquarium lights

Thank god for the battery, makes power outages a worry no longer
The program can be a little overwhelming if you plan on programming a lot of times but for simple on off program it is so easy to use. It gives you the opportunity to change your on off times throughout the week so if security is a reason for purchasing, this is great. And the idea of a battery saves you so much hassle when there is a power outage. No need to reprogram.
