Perfect for gate operator range extension
I used this antenna to extend the range of my gate operator remotes that use a 433MHz signal. Before connecting this antenna, I was only getting about 25ft range (and even that was inconsistent) which was just to the end of my driveway where the gates are positioned (the control board with the receiver is mounted on the garage). I am now getting consistent reception from beyond the far side of my yard (approximately 50ft beyond the front of the driveway. I haven't tested beyond that point, so I'm not sure exactly how far the range has been extended.The length of the antenna cable was just long enough to magnetically mount the antenna to the downspout under the eve. The antenna is light and the magnetic base is strong enough to hold it securely in place even in strong wind. I did have to cut off the threaded coaxial connector at the end of the cable and strip the wire in order to connect it to the receiver. For the purpose of using this antenna to extend a gate operator or garage door signal, it is important to note that you must use the center wire (inside white insulation) to connect to the receiver input terminal and connect the outer shield wire (wrapped on the outside of the white insulation but inside the black outer insulation) to the grounding terminal. If you do not connect to the ground, the antenna provides virtually no reception. My receive only came with only a short single, insulated wire connect to the input terminal and no instructions for connecting an antenna, even though an antenna was an optional accessory for an additional $65 plus shipping; so I initially only connect the center wire to the input and had sheared off the shield wire completely. When that resulted in virtually no reception from beyond a few feet of the receiver, I decided to try reconnecting with the shield wire stripped and connected to the ground, and sure enough, reception was consistent to at least 75ft which is the optimal distance for activating the gates when approaching the driveway on the street. Saved $65 by trying this antenna rather than purchasing the more expensive option from the dealer!

Uh
What is this tiny connector supposed to connect to? Barbie house? This is so small. Liftmaster or multi code remotes have a bigger connector. I like the idea but damn.

It did extend the range on my Mighty Mule gale opener.
Magnet is kind or weak and a strong wind did knock it over so I had to use some wire to keep if from moving. But It did extend the range on my Mighty Mule gale opener. Hard to say how much. My range went from maybe 6 feet to maybe 20' or 50' depending on the number of sun spot that days. But overall I am happy with this antenna. My Mighty Mule gale opener is working and not in the dumpster thanks to this antenna.

Works great long distance

Improved Performance of the Remotes
Helped a bit over the ridiculous 1/8 wave nano-antenna supplied with my Mighty Mule 371. Control unit is mounted on an aluminum gatepost so the wire enabled me to move far enough away to reduce the fence interference. Still not as good as the MM271 but it works one the first try from about 15’ which is acceptable.

Extends My Remote Reach
I use this antenna on my Mighty Mule 3371W gate opener. The antenna that is included with the opener is tiny and proved largely ineffective. This antenna can be easily installed by hand. It provides significant gain and greatly extends the usable distance between the g ate opener and the remote control.

antenna range improvement..
I can now open up my gate from 50 feet away...in the past I had to be at 10-20 feet away and sometimes even closer.At 50 feet the gates (double) have no risk in hitting my vehicle which is a very important feature.Too bad it is not further however...

Strongly recommended! A++
Excellent antenna. We were having issues with our gate opener, having to walk to the driveway to open the gate. Now with only one quick click (even if the control is inside your pocket) and you are inside the house, the gate opens immediately. Recommended 100%. Very happy with it.By the way, my gate it’s kind of far from the house. It works great.
