My 89 year old wife would be very unhappy without TV Ears
My 89 year old wife is almost deaf (even with expensive hearing aids) and she is almost blind due to macular degeneration. Also she can barely walk even when using a walker. She spends many hours a day sitting in front of the TV with her TV Ears listening to old movies and programs with her eyes closed. She tells me she doesn't have to see the TV because she has seen the shows before and can picture the scenes in her mind. She has been using TV Ears for about twenty years and can hear the programs very clearly. I wish I could connect them to the radio.

TV ears
Adjusting wireless sound buttons easy to use . Works on my smart Sony Tv. Would buy again. Battery use about 5 hours before recharging.

Buy one, a good product.
Tv ears works very well, have used them for 5 years. Normal wear required replacement even though they still worked. I went with the dual head sets to allow use by a second person. Inferred does not support stereo sound but who cares. Batteries need replacement each year. You lose sound when you leave the room (refrigerator or bathroom), that’s life. But lip syncing is perfect, no latency as with Bluetooth units.

Save your time and Money
Terrible,Terrible, Terrible! Installed easily. But as others have reported, one T.V. Ear would not charge. I heard that the company will send you a replacement. So, I figured I would call them up the next morning and get a replacement. The reception was good if you are directly in front of the TV. Could not go into another room, it cut out. Then the "buzzing" started as was reported by other customers. I tried several times but the buzzing continued. That was it!. I packed them up and sent them back for a refund.

Good after initial concern
One of the headsets did not charge and did not work right out of the box. Company sent me a new one without hassle. In fact, the company was quite eager to send a new one and there was no request to return the old one, so I had a sense this is not an unconmmon happening. I had initial concerns about the quality of the product and worry how long it will last, but it really does work fine when new with good sound quality , and is comfortable. As long as you are facing the transmitter you can move your head around and change sitting positions without interrupting the sound---an improvement from another devices we had been using. Only slight drawback is that the volume is a little too loud for my wife even turned down to lowest point. I also learned it is a waste of money to buy the digital version if you are going to plug it into the cable box because it will work only with the RCA analog connection. They don't tell you this on the Amazon page.

Made for older people = very usable
I am not elderly but I wanted to get this so my husband and I could sit in the same room while he watched something on TV that I didn't want to watch. This was my third try at getting something for this purpose (first one was an over-the-ear headset that wasn't comfortable on the couch, second was a Bluetooth device that can't stay plugged in). This product is perfect! I love that it is targeted towards older people, which means it has to be really simple to use (it is). Only caveat is that because the sound is transmitted via IR you really have to have a line of sight between the transmitter and the receiver on the headset, so you can't be lying too horizontally. But I like the IR concept because it's not finicky like Bluetooth. A great thing about it is that it comes with three different ways to hook it to your TV. The audio jacks on my TV were faulty so I used the "optical" port and it works perfectly. I got the dual headset version in case we wanted to listen together, but actually we still can, because I can set the TV audio out to "optical + speakers" and then I can listen through the speakers (or put it on mute) while he listens through the headset. Love it! Note that the manual says you can leave the headsets on the charger/docking station without worrying about the battery, which is great. This product would probably be even better for people with hearing problems because it's pretty loud -- the lowest setting was loud enough for me.

They do help a LITTLE but it is not what I had hoped for
I've been trying the TV Ears for a little over a month now. It does increase the volume of the TV but that is about all I can say. I'm not sure what clarifying circuitry this has but aside from a tone control, I can't hear any different than just using headphones plugged into the TV. Also, the minimum volume setting is almost too loud for me. I have frequency loss in some higher frequency (too many years listening to SONAR while looking for Russian subs). For most shows, I don't have a problem like the news and regular talk shows. But in movies with loud background music or mumbling actors, my wife and I always say, "what did they say?" Even when playing them back and doubling the volume of the TV we sometimes (most times) can't make out what was said. I was hoping it was just my (our) ears and that the TV Ears would help. They do help a LITTLE but it is not what I had hoped for. I use them for TV shows like the Resident and some movies but then take them off when the news comes on. If you just need the volume louder, then these might work for you. Also, when the TV volume is on and you have the TV Ears on, there is a slight difference or lag between the two and it is more like an echo. My wife doesn't like them and won't wear hers (bothers her ears) but that is just her more than it is the products fault. I find that the sound is best if they aren't directly in my ear canal and loose by the canal but they will slip in the canal while just wearing them. This make the bass more prevalent and for me make the sound less clear. If doing this over I would probably just get the less expensive, non digital version and only buy the single unit.

These are a must have for someone who is hearing impaired!
My husband has a severe hearing problem & watching TV with him was unbearable for me. He needed the volume up as high as it would go & needless to say I couldn’t be in the same room with him . I reluctantly bought these bc they were a bit expensive but they are worth every penny ! He is now able to watch tv & hear every word & I can join him without busting my eardrums. They work independent from the tv volume so I can lower the tv volume without affecting his volume through his headset ! This has been the best purchase I have ever made ! If you are living with one who is hearing impaired I highly reccomend you give these a try !
