Mice be gone! Easy, gentle, kind, effective.
I haven't been able to keep mice from getting into my house, and am only willing to use humane methods, not only for the mice's sake but to prevent my pets from being adversely affected (my cat refuses to acknowledge the presence of mice, even when they are dangled in front of his face. But that's another story). A few years ago I temporarily solved the problem by laboriously trapping exactly 30 mice, using 5 Havahart 1020 Two-Door 10-by-3-by-3-Inch Cage Trap for Mice and Rats. Those do work but require baiting (I recommend peanut butter), then carefully setting the archaic snare-type trap on those poorly made, spindly, apparently tin gadgets. Then once the mouse is trapped you have to lock it or the mouse might be able to escape, plus the poor thing is terrified because it's in an open cage, and will start making strange rattling / buzzing noises (if you use those lousy traps, I recommend putting the full trap in an old backpack so they can calm down in the dark, preferably with their mates in adjacent traps).Ah, but with this Ketch-All, which is sturdily made, you need no bait; you just wind a nice clean knob on the side 6 times and it can trap up to 6 mice at a time. Somehow, even without bait, the first mice find the little holes in the side irresistible, and after that, their pals follow their scent trail in dutifully. I set 3 of them in several strategic locations at night, and in the morning would find a bunch of calm mice, totally trapped but tranquil because of the high, solid walls of the trap, yet easily visible to me through the clear lid on top. Letting them go was much easier, too; a side panel slides up, and they tumble out into the tall grass. Many are so calm that I can actually pet them, and show no desire to run off until I coax them (they do not seem paralyzed by fear, as sometimes happened with the Hav-a-Heart traps). In a few days, all my mice were trapped and set free in the woods. Then I was able to leave the Ketch-Alls standing sentinel, clean, silent and ready. No poison but they stand as constant guardians against return of the mice. Now I just have to find out how the little buggers are getting in. . .

BEST mousetrap I've used. And I've used a lot!
Living in between a barn and horse pasture to my east, a forest to my north, a field to my west, and a hoarding situation to my south, we have mice. And I, have a compromised immune system, so I'd really rather not be exposed to anymore germs or diseases than I need to. We have tried MANY traps... The rolling log over water, the rolling log over an empty bucket, snap traps, sticky traps, poison balls, poison in a container that protects pets from eating it, copper wire barriers, wooden plywood barriers, garbage can mouse traps, electrocution mouse traps, duct tape barriers, more advanced snap traps, walk the plank, pet-safe poison balls...I think I got everything.Anyways, I've tried everything. Seeing this one on Mousetrap Monday / Shawn Woods / You Tube channel, I decided to try it, and I am so happy I did. (1) I've already caught four mice (2) You don't need ANY BAIT! (3) Even with arthritis, easy to wind up (4) Not this big ugly thing that screams out IM A MOUSE TRAP (5) No mouse escapes (6) Set it and forget it (7) I prefer catch and release traps to kill traps (8) On the one little dude who got his head caught in the "superspeed revolving door," he must've died pretty fast. I'd rather the occasional accidental death, than not catching the mouse and risking germs, diseases, etc. (9) You don't have to check it, because you will hear either the snap of the revolving door, or the mouse/mice moving around. (10) I literally put on gloves, go far away outside, open the door, release the mouse, release any droppings, close the door, give it some more winds, and back it goes. With the accidental death, it looked similar to a snap trap. No blood, no guts, just a dead mouse. I moved the revolving door a bit, and he too, fell out of the door onto the grass. (11) Light weight and (12) sturdy. I'm sure I'll think of more reasons I like this trap at 2:43am.The only "modification" I have made to this trap is I used scotch tape to tape down the clear plastic top, to the metal trap. Not a complete seal. Maybe 1- strips on each side. This is not due to a design flaw. This is due to a dog who LOVES to catch and eat mice. This prevents her from eating the live mice (eww) so I can release them outside. This is not a design flaw, this is a my-dog-is-a-hunter-dog modification. This is pet safe, child safe, no poison, no bait, no checking, no smell, no annoying sounds. And it works. I normally DON'T do ANY reviews of products on amazon, but I made an exception after catching four mice! And affordable. I highly suggest trying it. And as of the time of this post, there are free returns if you don't like it or no mice are caught. This is just my opinion and I am but one person. But this trap is awesome and I think you should at least give it a try? AND you don't have to worry about snapping your finger as you set it. :)

Not a humane trap!
We bought this humane trap because we did not want to hurt the mice we wanted to trap them and relocate them. It seemed to work very well the first week. Then this weekend when I put the trap out first, it caught two little mice they were fine. I went back out a short time later and one was caught with his head sticking out the hole which you could see in the picture and was dead. The second mouse, I know the picture is blurry but if you look at it closely there is a mouse hanging by his leg because it’s caught inside of the top of the trap dangling they’re absolutely terrified and scared.I wanted everybody to know that this trap has the capabilities of not being humane. My husband had to tear the trap apart just to get that poor little mouse out. I got this trap because it looked like a nice trap and it would catch the mice humanely and not hurt them, however that’s simply not the case.If they made corrections it would be a great humane trap. This is my second review of this product the first one they denied it, it came along with the video. I’m hoping that this time they will allow it because every review should be posted. And I hope that this company rethinks the way that their product works because it’s causing harm to animals and it’s supposed to be a humane way to trap them. Thank you.
