Great for moving into an apartment

Purchased this item when I first moved out and lived on my own. This is a great set for any home owner or renter! It includes a variety of items to hang, fix, etc. One of the best home purchases I have made by far.

A large set of tools (that work perfectly fine) for the little you pay. Being that price point, not everything is amazing. For example, my hammer doesn't stay in it's spot in the toolbox whenever I open or close the case. The boxcutter is sharp but not very sturdy. Those are pretty much the only things that I've noticed.

Has all the basics and is great

This tool kit has tools made in China, which is printed on every item in accordance with the law. It is from high-grade steel material, but it seems to lack precision because some parts seem rough around the edges, so to speak. The plastic parts suffer from cheap plastic (these are cheap tools, at it's best though), but they will get the average issues in the household fixed without having to search in your tool-shed or box, look outside or in the garage for, and the have to put back again. The scissors and razor suffer the most from the cheap plastic, but both are very sharp due to the metal they hold. This makes me worry a bit while using these two tools due to that "cheap low-grade working with razor sharp steel" combination. The hammer is miniature and feels rather sickly. The bit driver is magnetized and seems normal; the screw-drivers feel terrible and are hard to tell apart without squinting at their fine-printed back end labels. All in all, great for the money and they have completed the easy jobs I needed done in the house so far. I am thereby forced to give China-made materials a five star rating (sigh).

I bought a second one of these to keep upstairs, one on the main level and I keep the big toolbox in the basement. So handy!

I gave this to my daughter for her dorm when she went off to college. I could probably put together the same thing on my own for a bit cheaper, but you really can't beat the convenience of this small tool kit. I like that it is compact and well organized.

As a number of the negative reviews have stated, the quality here is quite low. It's very light plastic with hanging pieces of plastic that weren't trimmed properly. There are small imperfections here and there, it doesn't hold onto the tools well in the box, and it doesn't feel durable at all.I hesitate to ding the set too hard for being low-quality though because it's extremely inexpensive for what it has in it. I'm actually keeping it because I just wanted a small, super cheap set of tools to throw in my car that I'll use maybe 2 or 3 times ever. I strongly recommend against buying this for your main toolset in a house or apartment though - you'll be much happier spending another $40 and getting a high quality set that'll last you a decade instead of this one that feels like 2 years is optimistic.But, it is what it is.
