A good book
I'm not sure if I agree with the conclusions it makes but it certainly gave me much to think about.

A Good, Concise Primer on the Ascended Masters
The only drawback to this book is that some of the language is slightly dated, as the original publication date is 1986. Otherwise it is elegantly written and presents an impressive, comprehensive portrait of 7 of the most well-known AM's. It is dense reading only in that there is a lot to study and learn on this topic, and having 7 Masters all in one book makes for many nights of illuminated reading by the fireplace with cat and hot cocoa close by. There is something about the Prophets, Mark and Elizabeth Clare, that puts them heads above the rest as messengers for the higher realms, especially related to topics relevant to the ascension process.

Revealing the Unseen hand as History and fable find a mean.......
If in fact Jesus, (Issa) traveled the between Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley on the “Silk Road”, the trade routes to India and Egypt, the author gives some history and credence to the tradition’s and myth of the people that say he traveled and thought the principals of his doctrine as well healed many a soul.History has a flavor all its own….nothing like the Church of Rome would have us believe, even King James in his righteous fervor to have the Pope allow him to divorce his wife, but shut down by the power of the Pope King of Religion, save the king, to write another scripture to exert his power over men and create his own heavenly word for men to abide by.But do we see another King…..yes the King of good news…..The rebel of truth…., but who would listen to these truths other than men of common bondage…controlled by the kings of old and their priest of power on earth….making hell on earth for the common man……The so called King of Kings a messenger prophet, a soul unlike most men, incarnated or reincarnated, if written history would allow, ( the official story), but who were the cog orators of ancient wisdom……? Men who thought they were gods but were mere men of geological favor and by chance became powerful through wisdom of esoteric means…and had control of the written word….and the spoken word of history and myth. One must open the mind to a point of questioning all the modern conditioning of so called intellect and education….dig deep to undo the cognitive dissonance and the spine tap of robotic mentality being thought as truth…..unhook from the grid of the matrix we call the modern world and go back in time and understand the ignorance of living on a planet where the elite of their time controlled the destiny of most men through superstitions and worldly gods of the natural cosmos…..The Prophet Issa, (Jesus)….will come alive to the mind of a true believer of history and the reality of our common bond as men if we can manage to investigate or bias and dogmas formulated to keep us in bondage to common thought and folklore destined to cripple the mind of the believer…..I liked this oration of ink on paper and found it quite interesting how the author uses the works of history to conclude a different history as we are unaware. “The lost years of Jesus” as well “Jesus in India”, by Holger Kersten, another good read and also can be found at Amazon.com….< http://www.amazon.com/Jesus-Lived-India-Before-Crucifixion/dp/0143028294 >Men and woman of common bond; becoming human I believe would be the credo of the mind of the prophet, and finding that humanity is the wisdom needed for a planet in harmony with the cosmos.....How we find it is of no concern, nor the messenger at large,....but tipping the mind in that direction can only help the cause of life's peace and abundance.....the abundance of spirit in man making the cosmos of humanity the soul of vision...a new paradigm of emancipated thought, released form dogma and control and in harmony with natures laws......Gc

Another view
I know I read this years ago, and though I was raised Catholic, I consider myself spiritual and of no religious sect, that is what I loved about this book then and why I wanted to reread it, I feel if the world as a whole could just for a moment realize that we are all the same, and Jesus learned this and knew this, yet the powers that be chose to exclude that and thus we have holy wars, to me that is such a contradiction in terms, I'm not a follower of Elizabeth Clare Phophet, but I'm glad she did put this out there. My church that I attend is the forest where I walk my dog each day, I love all nature, I saw my first black bear on one of my walks just a few months ago, and it let me have a quick peek and was off to wherever, I'm more trusting these days of animals then I am of most people, I feel sad that there is so much bigotry in the world today, I'm proud of our current presidentent Obama, I'm for Gay marriage, though if it's called a civil union, I think they should take it as long as it comes with all the same rights a marriage certificate comes with, I think too often we get caught up in the vernacular and the issue gets losts in the furor, But in a word, I pray each day and night for world peace.

Some of my questions are answered
This is a very enlightening book. I have searched for a loooong time trying to find answers about Jesus and the “lost” years of his life. I guess I was looking in the wrong places. When I first started reading this book I was very skeptical. But the more I read and realized there was more than one person who witnessed, and brought back a translated version of the writings, I couldn’t believe it. I still want to research more of the Gospels because I am curious if anything that Jesus said that might relate to his learning and teachings from India (Buddhists). I am curious about one thing, and I’ll probably never find the answer, I would like to find out what happened to those writings after 1939. Were they stolen? Were they distroyed? Are they lost—-again? Or did the lamas hide them somewhere else? See, I get some questions answered and now I have more, lol. BTW, if you ask yourself why they never came forward with this, meaning the monasteries, look no further than what Notovich said. You’ll get that answer. This book is must read!!! God Bless!

A Must Read.
I wondered about this subject for years , now this well researched and entertainingly written book provides a well-spring of information. As it turns out a number of people travelling in India / Tibet came across this info and this book compiles their conclusions and writings in one place. I would rate it a must read , and recommend it highly to all.

Jesus is a Buddhist saint!
There now appears to be a consensus around a radical revision of Christian doctrine, in the light of the research concerning the Dead sea Scrolls, and the Nag Hammadi Library of apocryphal and pseudepigraphical Christian texts. This book is a part of this tendency which began at the cusp of the Aquarian Age. Why has the fact that Jesus travelled to India and Tibet been suppressed for so long? It is quite apparent that most of Jesus’ philosophy is Buddhist. When Jesus said, “my “yoke” is easy and my burden is light” he was referring to yoga for which there was no word in Greek or Aramaic. Nothing is said in the bible about the lost years of Jesus between the ages of thirteen and thirty, before He began his mission in Palestine. Most theologians have assumed that during this period He was in Egypt. On the contrary, He certainly travelled eastwards to learn everything he could from the sages and holy men of India, Tibet and Nepal. As this book reveals, Jesus is a Buddhist saint known in Tibet and all over central Asia as Saint Issa. Apparently the first “westerner” to “discover” this fact was Nicolas Notovitch the Russian who travelled in 1887 through Kashmir and thence to Little Tibet in search of the books which give accounts of Jesus’ sojourn in the East. I will not name the monasteries where these documents are kept, as I am sure that the monks in these holy places are sick of curious westerners pestering them about the Issa scrolls. To find out you will have to read this book.Jesus studied the Vedas in India and the ancient Buddhist scrolls of Lassa, and this was how he developed the philosophy that was to overwhelm the world, even if it has been badly and brutally evangelized. In India Jesus preached against the caste system and taught the vaisyas and sudras from the Vedas which was contrary to Hindu law. He also preached against idolatry, and that there is only one God the True Creator of everything in the universe. For this he was threatened and forced to travel northwards to Tibet. There is a precis of the teachings of Saint Issa in the Tibetan books shown to Notovitch, and translated to him, from the Tibetan, by the Lama of the monastery in which he stayed for a few weeks. There are many oral traditions too in Tibet concerning the deeds and the holiness of Saint Issa which were later heard by the artist and polymath, Nicholas Roerich, who did hundreds of visionary paintings on his arduous journeys through the Himalayas, Tibet, Mongolia and Turkestan during the nineteen thirties. In many ways the teachings of Jesus have become perverted and tainted by materialism and worldliness. Few can reach enlightenment by engaging with the world, and in pursuing wealth. Can faith in Christ be enough to ensure salvation? Actions must count for something too, as Jesus actually said. Surely there are fewer enlightened people now than there were in the first century. Obviously Saint Issa was familiar with philosophy of Karma; I believe that it was a part of his intention, when he returned to Palestine, to introduce the Dhamma to the West, so that the people could see that their actions always have consequences, in a kind of inevitable Newtonian sense. Perhaps some of the Buddhist histories of Issa have been interpolated and wrongly translated, slightly, in the same way as the Bible has. One can only hope that all of the researches continue apace and that the true findings concerning the life of Saint Issa are not suppressed any further. Please do not neglect to read the notes at the end of the book, some of the most interesting material and references are contained therein.
