Wexstar Infrared Panel Heater 600W White

Not sure if these LEDs will hold up over the long-term due to the heat. But it's working great for me and really helps to brighten up my 48x48 by 9ft ceiling shower area. Do this at your own risk of course! There are plenty of people here who will say this shouldn't be done because heat degrades LED diodes and because the heat panel is not rated for damp environments. I prefer to throw caution to the wind! I find that the silver finished on the channel blends fine with the white heater panel, so don't worry about that. The square channel on the back of the heater panel contains no wiring, so you're safe to drill there and screw in any brackets you use to suspect the channel. Try to get the channel flush with the front surface of the heater panel for a great OEM finished look.

This heater works great with the added thermostat (purchased separately). My only complaints are it is very obtrusive in a room. It is 2' by 3' and must be mounted on a wall. Now that it is spring, I unplugged it and hung a picture over it, so it is not visible part of the year. Secondly, it would be nice if it came with a thermostat built-in. The first thermostat I ordered was a pieceofjunk, so I had to wait a few extra days to get one that worked. I would not use it without the thermostat, as it gets very hot, and if you forget to unplug it, I would be fearful of fire or damage to the surrounding surfaces.

I absolutely love this heater. I keep it a couple of feet away from my seat while I'm working at my desk. It keeps me cozy and warm in the cool weather. So much better that a heater than blows warm air. Actually beyond comparison. The heat it emits feels very natural - I was skeptical at first when my husband bought it, by now I swear by it.

Very nice alternative to 1500 watt heater. Heats 140 sqft room to comfortable temperature. Works well with the Wexstar thermostat.

the idea is nice but not having a thermostat or a real on off switch is a deal breaker. heat not as radiant as claimed

Bought an older home in WI that has a bedroom and breezeway over a crawl space so it was always cold. Furnace couldn’t provide enough heat to the bedroom. I cannot believe how much more comfortable and warmer the room is with the panel heater. No more temperature fluctuations. Very easy to install. Want another for living room!

This unit will not adequately heat a room up to 200 sq ft as listed in the description. My room is 180 sq ft, very well insulated, with standard 8' ceiling and the unit only heated the room to 68 degrees. It might heat a 150 sq ft room to 72 degrees, but probably no higher than that. Company states this unit was tested in optimal conditions to heat a 200 sq ft room instead of being tested in normal conditions. It might perform adequately in the tropics but not in normal conditions. I live on the west coast where winters are moderate. Imagine how it would perform on the east coast or northern states with frigid winter conditions. Company suggested purchasing a second 600 watt unit but this would require 1200 watts of electricity, 200 watts more than my current heating system. Very disappointing.

I live in a 140 year old house. Insulation is questionable in some rooms and drafts are definately a thing. It would be extremely difficult to run duct work to our main bedroom without it either being an eyesore or structurally compromising the house. This IR heater has finally given us the comfort we need in the winter. With some physical effort, I was able to mount the panel on a 45 degree slope. Your mounting screw heads need to be very precisely placed or you will struggle to get this panel up. On a ceiling I would recommend buying a mount kit. I have this panel attached to an InkBird controller that turns it on and off at the right set temperatures. Our room has never been this comfortable in the past. Drafts are irrelevant to this heater. It warms the objects and you only, not the air. It feels like you're standing in the sun on a warm day. Right now instead of 15 C our room sits at a comfortable 18C and our power usage has not shot up. I'm very satisfied with this panel and I'm considering getting another one for an unheated front room.
