Best and easiest rice you will ever cook
We absolutely love this rice cooker . Don’t let its small size fool you . This thing is a rice cooking machine . Price is very affordable. Love the timer option to have it automatically start and ready at desired time . We like the Calrose sticky rice . We have enjoyed it so much that we brought a couple for gifts for family members for Christmas . One that we ordered got damaged in shipping process but was quickly replaced . With all the oversized kitchen gadgets we have - we like the size for storage and also the fact that all you have to do is rinse the rice - add your water then set it and forget it . The rice comes out perfect and even keeps the rice warm after it’s finished cooking . The next day just add a small amount of water with the rice in a bowl and microwave it - taste just like you just got it out of the rice cooker !!

Perfect Rice Every Time
Works great and very easy to use. Cooks rice perfectly and the extra functions like slow cook, steam, and soup are really handy. The digital controls are simple, and it heats evenly every time. Solid build, easy to clean, and saves a lot of counter space. Very happy with this purchase.

Great Rice and a Tolerant Cooker
Okay. I'll give it five stars based on the rice it produces and easy of use and design. It does indeed make pretty much perfect rice, white, brown, wild, etc. as well as other grains. It comes with a little measuring cup. The water level marks inside (none too easy to see, are calibrated for the number of these little cups of grain you use. But the cup is about 3/4 cup, Why? Because that's 1-gou, the standard Japanese rice serving measure. But that's no big deal. Nor is it a problem that the water marks inside are hard to read. Just use one measure of water to one measure of rice. I know. That's different from your usual ratio for stovetop rice. There's a little bit of learning to do at first. I use more water with brown rice, more like 1.5 water to one brown rice. And some rice is drier than other rices, and need more water. I find that you can have a little more water, but you don't want to have too little, because the rice will be less than fully prepared. For instance, I forgot about the little measuring cup and absentmindedly used a full one cup measure but added water to the line for two gou. I got slightly underdone rice. Remember that the cooker knows when the water has been absorbed. Rice cookers work because, so long as there is free water in the pot, the temperature cannot rise above 212F (at sea level). So all the pot need do is stop cooking and reduce temperature to warm when the pot temperature rises about 212F. That's why it works for all grains. And that means the cooker doesn't really know when the rice is done, only when the water is gone. Now, you will see all sorts of different ratios recommended by rice cooker recipes and for different cookers. Lots of people use 1.5:1 for white rice. Quinoa is happier with a 2:1 ratio. Anything reasonably close will work, so long as you use enough water for the grain to be fully cooked when the water is gone. If you use a little more water than you needed, it will go on cooking until absorbed. The worst that will happen is that it might get a little softer than you'd like. And you can even fix it when you open the pot and find it isn't quite done. Just add a bit more water and start the cycle again. The cooker will still know when that water is absorbed. That's the lovely thing about a rice cooker. It can sort of peak under the lid for you, plus it doesn't have to be watched.

Good, but worth the money?
I bought the 4-Cup (uncooked), 2 Qt. ARC-914SBD model two months ago (Jan. 2026). It makes fantastic rice and was good at making oatmeal (a little overdone). It appears to be well-made with a much nicer cooking bowl than my previous rice cooker. I find it a little more difficult to clean the lid, but only a little. Two significant problems: 1. The smallest amount of rice it cooks is too much rice for one person. I always have to store half the rice and use it within a few days or throw it out. 2. It is very difficult to read the FILL lines on the inside of the cooking bowl. With a flashlight shining at the right angle, I can read the lines. My solution was to use my kitchen scale to weigh how much water was needed for a certain fill line and then just weigh the bowl when adding the water instead of getting out my flashlight each time. Overall a very good rice cooker. I just don't know what more it does than my previous $25 rice cooker (which finally wore out after 20 years).

Excellent value.
I have two of these in different places. That said, it's consistent, makes good price, zero complications. Usually just turn on and click white rice and go to sleep, it's done. Great value for the size, cook, and yeah. I'd probably say the error is either quality check (not in my case) or user so it's a good buy.

Yes buy this
Absolutely love I use this at least once or twice a week. I’ve had it for a few years now and it still works perfect and does the job well. I may need to get a bigger one though the size is perfect. It’s very versatile because you can steam or make rice. The cooking ability is just absolutely amazing and it’s small enough and compact enough that you can store in a cabinet or have it on your counter.

This Aroma rice cooker works perfectly and is very easy to use. The rice cooks evenly, the warming function is excellent, and the size is ideal for everyday meals. The build quality feels solid, and the features like “Flash Rice” and “Steam” make it super convenient.

Unfortunately, the seller forgot to mention in the description the big disclaimer that the rice cocker that they are selling causes cancer (see picture). I tried to return the product to get my money back and it was really painful as the seller did not wanted to pay for the return at first. Then when I managed to get a prepaid label, they resended the parcel back again by mistake, but they did not send the money. Still no money received and they expect that I pay to return the package (that they mistakely re-sent). Will really not reccomend this product.

Been using Aroma brand for decades. I only needed to buy this new one because I didn’t pack my old one when I moved from the US to Canada. The rice pot is smaller than I expected but it’s fine, since I did mainly get it to make 2 meals. I’ve only used the rice cooker and slow cooker function, which is what I got it for rather than buying 2 separate appliances. It works great. In case anyone is wondering, the Slow Cook feature is preset to High, with a temperature of 203°F. It does not say this in the manual or on their website, so I contacted Aroma directly. It’s a great appliance when used to cook meals for up to 2.
