Could Not Live Without This
I was super hesitant to get this as I was not sure what warranted the price difference between models. But now I could not live without this thing. The natural voice activation is like Siri for your helmet. It provides handsfree use of all of the features of the Freecom! You can also say "Hey Siri" if you are rocking an iPhone and interface with your phone.I ride with music to keep my mind clear and the sound quality is 10/10 on this. Even with earplugs in and my sort of loud bike in the revs (Monster 821 w/Race Termis) I can hear music clearly. Also, the volume automatically adjusts as the ambient noises get louder so you do not have to fool around with that while getting after it.Call quality is clear on both ends. Slight wind noise at times but speed dependent.Speaker installation was somewhat easy with a Shoei RF-1200 and the mount will tuck up under the side of the helmet so no need to use the external sticky mount.Battery life is wicked, I've been riding on the same charge since early DecemberThe only slight negative I have is that sometimes people say I sound far away from the mic when on a call. I have the mic mounted a bit to the side of my mouth. Finally, I have no experience using this with other units or other riders so I cannot speak to anything about that functionality. If you are in the market for something to listen to music and make calls with while on two wheels and wearing a full face helmet this is the one.

Amazing for music
So I just installed this on a Biltwell Gringo S helmet (the one with installed face shield) and it works great. I haven’t been able to figure out how to use the voice commands, I need to push a button for it to work. It won’t work with just saying “hey Cardo” or “hey Siri” (since I have an iPhone) but music quality is great. My helmet does not have good noise cancellation and I can hear my music pretty well even at 115mph on my Harley with no baffles. Some guitar notes are not very clear at higher speeds, but that’s so minor of an issue when it comes to that.Installation is easy, although it has to connect to a computer to update, it won’t update through the app, which is the slightest bit of a bummer but not really a problem just an inconvenience.I really dig this head set and i look forward to seeing if the call/intercom quality is as good as the other reviews say. But to stream music from YouTube is great already so I’m sure it’ll be at minimum acceptable.

Great add-on for those long rides
I just spent nearly 700 miles on a Dual-Sport Adventure ride. The tires are loud, along with the wind noise, but the JBL speakers do a good job of overriding that noise. The voice activated commands are the nicest tool on this device. The ability to stop my music when I pull up to the group and need to communicate with them, is an excellent feature. I would like to see more commands in regard to music, but I'm very happy that I can move to the next track without having to touch my phone. The Cardo app could use some more work, as it appears to be a very basic app that does not interface very well with applications such as Amazon's Audio books. However, it does work with Amazon's music app, allowing the user to forward to the next track, stop and start the music. Overall, I'm very impressed with this device, and very happy with the overall performance. I was able to listen to hours of my downloaded music with no hiccups. I've made phone calls, and was told that I sounded clear, given I was on a motorcycle in the wind. Great device for the money.

Loved it until it fell off.. Rare but true. Better than I expected. And I'm a tough reviewer.
Update: replacement unit installed. This is a great unit. I think better then the sena equivalent but that’s just me. Intercom riding was flawless. Okay, I don't give out 5's often. I can't stand when people try to make it feel rude not to give a 5.5's are for perfection and without those standards, the online reviews mean nothing to me.This said I read many reviews from multiple sites when choosing important items to purchase. I watched video reviews from RevZilla, youtube, and other sources. As well, read many on this site before making my choice.I am truly happy with this purchase.I was concerned with buying a Bluetooth headset for an open face helmet, but I was not disappointed in this case. I decided to go for the freecome 4+ simply because of the upgraded JBL speakers. Doing the math when buying the frecom+ and buying the JBL's as an addon was almost the same price anyway. So 1st critique: the directions were chaotic in my opinion. I really struggled with feeling confident in how to put this in my specific helmet, but I figured it out so I didn't ding the product for this.2nd critique: the velcro on the boom mic actually separated from the mic rather than peeling away from the mounting velcro but not a big deal as I used both peices to attach and everything feels secure. With these aside, all I can say is wow! I put the helmet on and turned on my music and loved the sound. I then got on my bike MT07 and took off for a test ride. At normal street speeds, it's perfect. I received a call from pops and it was clear and easy for both of us. getting on the freeway I opened it up and at 80 the wind noise is kind of loud but I still enjoyed the beat and bass of my music. I wish I could bring the level up just a bit higher, but I am completely satisfied with what I have. I have my speakers installed behind my pads without the velcro booster pads and I have a feeling if I put those in it would bring up the sound level and quality but as is I'm loving this system. (disclaimer, I have not tried voice recognition yet. Ill add to this review if there is anything, which would change this review after testing that.
