Stanley Kubrick is a visionary director, whether or not you understood or even liked his movies you still fell in love with his style. Here we get 3 of his best films, the first being2001: A Space Odyssey, based on the novel of the same name(which was followed by 3 more novels, only one of which was also made into a film). We travel through, what I'd like to think of is noir film territory. Watching this for the first time I found myself wondering how long before the infamous HAL story would begin, but strangely wanting the glorious music to keep going. When the bulk of the main story starts you are definitely feeling like you are in another world, even as we are now way past 2001, you still feel like this future could really happen. The set keeps are the great special features that accompanies the individual release, as well as the 2 disc DVD.A Clockwork Orange, another classic that was developed based on a novel. Malcolm McDowell is amazing in this and continues to work solely on his popularity in this film. Stanley Kubrick seems to love to play out the wide lenses an angles and really knows how make even the smallest areas look huge. I also love how we are treated to a world where the old motto of "Be careful what you wish for" is so blatantly realized. Again if you have the 2 Disc DVD then you have everything on this release, however if you are like me and want as much as possibly than your best bet is to get the 2 Disc Blu-Ray of this individual release(I believe its a 40th Anniversary Digibook). However this is fine for those who never seen it or are just looking to get a group of classic films in one shot.The Shining, another masterpiece based on a popular book & probably the most famous out of the three. If you want a great special edition that features loads of great extras as well as a clear and crisp picture than go no further.Overall you cannot lose by purchasing this release, you get three films for a cheap price in 3 disc.

I saw 2001 when first released at the Cinema a Well Done 1968 Science fiction film directed by S. kubrick and co written by Kubrick & Arthur C. Clarke short story the Sentinel , The story deals with a serious of encounters between humans and a black monoliths sending a high pitch radio signal into space that is affecting human evolution , The Film Consist of four mayor sections : The Dawn of Man ( Than jumps into the future ) TMA-1 - The Jupiter Mission : Eighteen Months Later - Jupiter and Beyond The Infinite , according to interviews the movie companies almost stopped showing 2001 at the beginning because it wasn't attracting enough people a G rated film approx 148 minutes long .Clock Work Orange is 1971 Science Fiction Film written directed and produce by Stanley Kubrick from a short novel by Anthony Burgess starring Malcom Mcdowell , Patrick Magee , Adrienne Corri , Miriam Carlin , Godfrey Quiqley , Anthony Sharp , Warren Clarke , This Film features disturbing violent images even funny in some scenes about a gang on a violent spree of crime fighting and raping in future England and the main character Alex , M.Mcdowell's friends are called Droogs an Anglo Russian Slang Nadsat according to movie profile , R rated approx 137 minutes long .The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film Starring Jack Nicholson , Shelley Duvall, Scatman Crothers and Danny Loyd produce and directed by Stanley Kubrick and based on Stephen King's Novel The Shining about a writer who takes a job as an of season care taker in an isolated hotel and an supernatural power ghost gradually takes over the mind of the care taker into madness and wants to kill his wife and son during a snow storm , R rated approx 144 minutes long .I have all 3 movies on DVD but are way better on Blu Ray and for a Great Price .

Kubrick, King and Nicholson, the writing was literally on the wall, and I don't mean RedRum, forty years on, and The Shining is still a masterpiece.Kubrick takes King's fantastic book, and builds on it, bringing the story to life in his own inimitable way. It's dark, it's bleak, it's terrifying, a masterpiece in storytelling. You watch as the central character's mental collapse is played out in a spine chilling fashion.Gorgeous camera work, incredible visuals, that opening is iconic. So many incredible, visual moments, the twins, lift, barman etc, no wonder it's been parodied multiple times over the years, famously by The Simpsons.An iconic role for Jack Nicholson, he is incredible, well supported by a terrific cast.It's a classic, 10/10.
