Great knitting resource tool to keep on hand at all times
I was provided a temporary digital advance reader copy by the publisher via Netgalley. I was so thrilled with the information provided in this book, that once I had gone through the digital version, I immediately pre-ordered the paperback version to have on hand at all times.I am much more experienced as a crocheter than as a knitter. I got interested in knitting a few years ago while there was a boom of knitting shows on public television. I have a lot of fun with the process but really don't have anyone to ask questions of. Most of the yarn stores in my area have closed and there are only the generic large craft stores available. The employees there, while very nice, don't seem to have the advanced skills necessary to give me answers to the issues that I have encountered in knitting. I generally have to try to search the internet to get my answers and that takes a lot of time and the answers are always clearly set forth. This book, "The Knitting Answer Book, 2nd Edition" has been a godsend of information and answers for me. My digital copy went away pretty quickly and I have been waiting impatiently for the paperback to arrive. I know that I will keep this book right next to me while knitting and I will use it daily. From information about interchangeable needles (boy, I could have used that a couple of years ago and saved a lot of time and money) to types of cast-ons (I always forget which is best for what use) to adding beads and everything in-between is covered in this book. I also have a similar title in crochet and use it all the time and, as with that book, the illustrations are not fantastic, but they are good enough and the information is presented so well that I can get what I need quickly and efficiently from the book. What is wonderful is that I no longer have the feeling that I am making my craft up as I got along, I can see that others have had similar issues and thankfully have solved them for me. I've put projects aside because I got stopped at a problem and could not figure my way out of it. I will certainly pick those projects back up and hopefully finish them in record time after having my problem solved.I cannot recommend the book enough. While I am a beginner knitter, it seems like the information is useable certainly by individuals at my level to those who are advanced. I recommend it for the knitter or as a gift for anyone who knits.

Perfect!
This book is endlessly helpful, I’ve had the first edition for a very long time and I don’t think a knitting project goes by that I don’t reference this book. When I saw the revised edition I just had to get it! This book is a must have for knitters of all skill levels! I highly recommend!

Very useful, especially for beginners
This is quite a good book for questions that may come up, whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, though it is aimed more toward the beginner. The illustrations are clear and generally well explained. However, I had some trouble finding specific answers because I couldn't figure out which category of the table of contents to put it in. I looking through the various topics, I also find that there are better (in my opinion) answers for some of the questions. But it is very useful for what it is. I should mention that I have the Kindle version, which works well on my tablet, except that it is a bit hard to navigate. The Kindle menu for the book doesn't include the table of contents, so I had to put a "bookmark" there so that, after I look at one item, I can go back to the TofC quickly to look for something else.

Absolutely!
I gave this book to my niece because I have a copy and have found it to be the most useful knitting book that I’ve ever come across. It truly does answer every question that you could possibly have. It’s like a mentor on your bookshelf!

Disapointed.
Bit disappointed I was hoping the book would help me reproduce a complicated knitted square with a pattern of a tree (for a blanket) that I'd been asked to reproduce. Picture attached. Regrettably no help at all, but might be useful for a friend who's more of a knitting beginner.

Useful go to book
I picked up knitting again in lockdown,This book was recommended by a knitting friend after her attempts to coach me via e mail and phone when I got stuck with a pattern. It is really useful.

A perfect model of clarity.
Haven't had the opportunity to put any of her Answers into practice yet, but I've read through the book and her instructions look like a perfect model of clarity - not easy when you're talking about knitting - and the illustrations help, rather than hinder.

I am hoping to learn some new techniques with this ...
I am hoping to learn some new techniques with this book especially I am hoping to try out some of the suggestions for sewing knitting together which is a task I have found difficult. This book is definately something I am hoping to use from time to time for reference. The book gives advice on most aspects of 'how to knit' and despite having learnt to knit in childhood I am ready to learn more!

A must have if you have any questions about knitting!
A must have if you have any questions about knitting! Once I started knitting, this was the first book I just had to get - I had the crochet answer book before it, and loved it. And the Knitting Answer Book? It's just as good, or maybe even better than the crochet version! Everything is explained clearly, with illustrations when necessary. The book is easy to navigate when you search for a specific solution, and a good read when you just want to flick through it. It's also pocket sized, so you could easily take it with you as an on the go reference!
