Worked perfectly for 2014 VW CC
Got the dreaded Christmas lights dashboard on my 2014 VW CC with just over 35k miles (dont drive much). Couldn't pass inspection even because check engine light went on too. ABS and Airbag lights as well among a couple others that I don't remember. Did some research and found out these cars (and other VWs and Audis) have a common issue with the rear speed sensors going bad and causing all of these lights. Used my trusty OBDeleven tool and tested the speed sensors, passenger rear was giving a zero while the others were giving me the actual speed the car was going at. So I bought this sensor on amazon for about $30 and about 15-20 mins of my time I was good to go. All the lights disappeared and I was able to pass inspection. Was fairly easy to replace on my car without going to a shop but could be more difficult on others.

German cars necessary
If you have this color sensor on the rear wheels, it's a must to get the same colour sensor. I tried the black sensors, which state they are compatible and the car did not like the signal. This Bosch was perfect for my 2013 VW CC.

Symptoms got worse
Vehicle was initially limited to 30mph before putting this sensor in. After installing, my vehicle does not exceed 10mph and is very jumpy - almost as if the signal is interrupted sporadically. Wheel assembly is brand new and I’ve confirmed voltage at the plug. Since the only thing that changed is the sensor and the symptoms got worse; it must be the connector. I am trying to get in touch with Bosch now. If the outcome is positive, I’ll update the review accordingly.

Woks like a charm on my 2013 Volkswagen CC
I went to a mechanic and they said $300, put the black one (I guess cheaper) and it didn't work, the dealer quote was $1000 because he have to change the wheel bearing.. I read some comments here watched a youtube video and decided to replace it by myself, I bought this and it took me less than 15mn to replace and works great, all light are gone! the car runs smoothly. great money saver!

Finally one that works!
I went through 5 different sensors from different stores and sellers on Amazon before I figured out to MATCH THE COLOR OF THE ORIGINAL. That's apparently how VW differentiates the ones that work with lane assist. As far as I can tell that's the main difference in the black and the gray ones. I believe black was for ones with no lane assist and gray is if you have lane assist. That's how it seems to work from everything I went in circles researching and reading for 2 weeks while the car was undrivable. Basically it looks like black is a canbus endpoint and gray is a pass through for the lane sensor and the lane sensor is the endpoint of the circuit. Also worth noting that Bosch is the OEM manufacturer of the original ones used by VW. I installed this within 2 minutes after the mail ran and all the lights went off on the dash.
