Exactly what I needed. This is a COLOR CHANGE kit for the Leviton Renu 20a GFCI. I don't know how the item title could be made more clear, that's what it is. It is NOT an outlet/receptacle...and I don't understand the negative reviews given the clear description. (Also, you'd never get a 20a GFCI in a designer color from a well-known and reputable company for $9)Check out the Leviton website and learn what the Renu line is all about - it is a great ability to change colors without having to re-wire, but you need to start with a Renu receptacle that can accommodate the various color face plates. They've got some great videos on their site explaining the swapping of color plates. I tried including a link in my review, but alas it is against policy to link externally, even if it is an official video from the manufacturer.

I always buy this brand each time, I like the color and even though my husband has a hard time installing it it’s not in the fault of this receptacle- it’s the the fault of the builder.

This is just a cover for the receptacle. I knew that before I purchased it. What I did not know is that it isn’t standard size so it wouldn’t fit over my existing GFCI. Wasted about an hour fiddling with it, thinking I was missing something. Finally gave up & requested a refund. No problem there, which is about the only good thing I can say about this. No way it’s worth almost $13.

It works

First of all, this color faceplate is only for the appropriate Leviton Renu GFCI outlet. That's precisely as the unit is advertised and the replacement kit will work only with that specific outlet, so be certain that you have the appropriate outlet in place. Second, again as noted in the promotional material, this does not include the surrounding faceplate but just the outlet access area and test/reset buttons. So you can have up to three or four colors in an outlet if you wish...the faceplate, the test button, the reset button, and the outlet face are all separate. You just need to buy the faceplate separately unless you don't mind the standard white surround and a red outlet area. The process of replacing one color with another is straightforward and requires no explanation.This particular kit is called "Red Delicious." It is, however, considerably darker than a Red Delicious apple, running closer to a maroon in color than a vivid red. I wouldn't recommend this particular color for a dark area as it would be difficult to locate where to fit the plug unless the area is well lit. On the other hand, it's nice to be able to match wall colors, and this works particularly well with the barn red so popular for dining rooms these days. (On the other hand, you're unlikely to find GFCI outlets in a dining room - these are typically just in new installation kitchens and bathrooms).

Looked all over for this new product. After seeing a demo on TV, I had my electrician locate the basic white Leviton Renu GFCI plugs for our kitchen and bathroom update. As these are/were only on the market for a few months when we had to locate them locally . . . we soon found the color kits were absent for purchase. Too new.After much searching through typical resources, I found the much needed color plug and cover plate at Amazon.com. It was my first purchase and a great experience. As Arnold says, "I'll be back" :-)Another thing . . . the kit not only works as described, but looks great too.
