Very heavy duty
This thing could haul a horse trailer, no problem. I use it to tow my 14 foot boat.

Perfect Adjustable Hitch!
Don't usually take the time for reviews unless really disappointed or really happy. In the case of this product--HAPPY!First impressions count a LOT when it comes to Class 3 trailer hitches. They're just hefty hunks o' steel that typically don't have many ways to fail. This hitch classifies as such, heavy duty shiny & black. Nothing remarkable there.HOWEVER, I spent HOURS trying to track down a hitch that would be sized to allow my box truck's liftgate to clear the hitch. Very few fixed and adjustable hitches provided detailed enough dimensional information to be able to tell for sure. When there were dimensions nearly every hitch missed my mark. I almost gave up my search for the perfectly sized adjustable hitch but tried it one more way and, voila! There is was--the right size, the right price, and right next-day availability! Perfect in every way for my needs. For future reference, the exact dimension of this hitch from center of rear hitch pin hole to center of ball mount hole is...wait for it...a mere 10"! To the tip of the tongue is only another 1.75" so it clears my liftgate by a whopping 1 and a quarter inches! It provides the exact 6" drop I was looking for in addition to the many other possible drops and rises if offers. I should definitely be set for the long haul--literally!

Very useful
I used it reverse or upside down to get height I use on my 2017 honda civic to pull a 8x4 foot trailer bed from harbor freight. To haul my lawn mower and small boat and other things

appears to be a good product, BUT
there is one very important thing that you should know about this product that nobody seems to have mentioned yet. Looking at the pictures it would appear that there is a wide range of adjustment of the ball mount; however, when I actually received the product, the instructions state that the gusset between the vertical bit and the part that slides into the receiver must be towards the ball, which prohibits some positions that look like they might be useful. The *least* amount of drop following the directions is 4-3/4", likewise the *least* amount of rise is 3-3/8". So if you need a position in between these values, this product won't work for you. Just looking at the pictures, it would appear that you could get either about 2" drop or 1" rise, but those positions are prohibited by the instructions. I am not sure why that would be, but for liability reasons I wouldn't recommend not following the directions! I purchased this product because I wanted to have an "emergency towing bag" prepared so that I could tow any trailer should the need arise, hence looking for a good, inexpensive adjustable ball mount (along with the three most common sizes of hitch balls, a hitch ball wrench, and a couple locks so nobody'd run off with my stuff.) Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be the right product for that job BUT if you need a lot of rise or drop, this should work well for you. It appears to be a sturdy product, and the price is great. For what I paid it's not worth the hassle of sending back, but it won't be going in the emergency towing kit bag.My only other comment is that the paint does not appear to be very durable, out of the box there are already some scuffs, chips, and scratches in it, but then again, it's a ball mount, so unless you have a show-quality tow vehicle I don't see the big deal there. For my needs I suspect I am going to go with a c-channel type mount, which sadly is about three times the price. I'll have to be more careful and try to find installation instructions before ordering next time. Hidden Hitch 80412 Adjustable Ball Mount or the Curt 45901 Channel Style Adjustable Mount appear to be viable alternatives, but I have not managed to locate the instructions for those online, although another web site indicates that the Hidden Hitch product (oddly, also made by Cequent) will work with all four possible permutations of the orientations of the two main parts and therefore would be a true fairly universal-application ball mount.Edit: I've found the instructions for the Valley 75120 Class III Adjustable Ball Mount on the manufacturer's web site and that one can be used in all four positions and has a range of 7-1/2" drop to 6-1/8" rise.

Great ball mount; couple more tweaks would make it perfect!
I love how this is designed: simple & plenty of adjustability. I used to have another Reese mount with 2" drop that I used plenty of times to tow various utility trailers. I recently got an enclosed trailer that rode really low. With my other mount, the trailer constantly towed at an angle on a flat road. With this, it now rides level, and I can use it for many other types of trailers. If there was one thing to tweak on this design to make it better, I would add the one-tool bolt-on/bolt-off feature like my other Reese mount. You'll need two large wrenches to bolt on a tow ball on this design. Also, you'll need two locking hitch pins with this design if you want to secure your trailer. Luckily, I already had a second hitch pin.

Great Choice!
I bought a "like new" 2002 Tundra a few months ago. I have a stout dump trailer. When I used the Kurt ball mount with a 2" drop, the trailer tiled back a lot. I tried to measure accurately to order one with about a 5" drop and cam upon the Reese adjustable. For about $10 more you get one that will work for just about ant trailer set up. It is well made and should last. You need the ball to have a 1" shank.
