CRAFTSMANEvolv 10 piece file set

I had a set of three from Craftsman and was happy with them until they walked away one day. I saw these and thought it was a great price and bought this full set. I love the versatility of having so many, especially now with the round one as well as the smaller. The handles are a fantastic upgrade!

Seem sturdy and of decent quality with a couple of exceptions.The plastic handles are barely adequate for occasional use and will probably wear out quickly. They use plastic “teeth” to hold the tang in the handle. You have to bang it on pretty well to keep it in place and I don’t see it lasting if you change file types very much. Not horrible for the price, but keep your expectations reasonable.The files aren’t finished very well. The bar rasp (the one with no handle) is horrible. Razor sharp barbs and slivers are all around the edge of the flat side and has an uneven raised edge that I had to clean up on my grinder.The files seem sturdy, sharp and have decently formed teeth.As for the hardness the couple of items of mild steel, and brass were not a problem. I wouldn’t use on hardened steel much if at all.Overall, you get what you pay for. They are decent for the low price, compared to higher quality files. These are ideal for the occasional use on softer metals and wood. Make sure you sand or grind off the burrs or you will get cut!! Ask me how I know :/

Works as it should. I now wish I had not gotten the removable handles. They come loose when using.
