The price is right!
I feel this is very accurate. I located my sensor in the top radiator hose so I know what the temp is of the coolant as it is leaving the engine headed towards the radiator. This also tells you when your thermostate opens, mine should open at 192. This is relative to where the temp gauge reads. If I am hauling a load the temp goes up slightly with in 2-5 degrees. People complain the temp gauge doesn't read below 104, Why do you need it to read below 104? The gauge isn't going to read right off until the coolant is warm over 104 and the thermostate STARTS to open. The CONs I had was the wiring harness is too short, could have been 6-8 foot long and you could cut as needed. Currently harness is 12 inches long and you have to extend them. The other CON is the wires are like 22 - 24 gauge, very small to adapt too but it can be done. I broke my joints the first time had to resplice them. The Housing is all plastic, not a game changer for an old everyday truck but for a classic I wouldn't use it. Also not recommended for direct outdoor use with No cab or protection Other than the three CONS, good gauge for the money. You got to be smarter than what you are working with. If you are installing in line in a rubber radiator hose the sensors body has got to be ground for the gauge to work. I would recommend it if the situation is RIGHT.

Works great! After figuring what I did wrong!
The gauge works as it should. At first it only read 104..wouldn’t move. Amazon was going to send me a new one. Then I read the reviews and saw the same issue, as well as others. I figured it was maybe user error. So I used a new wire between the sending unit and the gauge. Then it read higher temps as the engine heated up. Noticed that the gauge would jump around a bit higher ,then lower. Ran new wires to serve this unit only where as before I was using existing wires from another gauge. That was the problem. Works great now. So in my case, and maybe some of the other bad reviews…was due to user error.

Worked good for 3 weeks
Okay really quick. The gauge is decent however the sensor took a poop after 2 weeks and Amazon quickly shipped out a replacement. Minutes ago I installed the new sensor and it works. We'll see how long it will last. Also the probe on the sensor needs to be a bit longer. I will post a follow up one month from now (if it lasts)

Buyer beware. NOT ACCURATE
PROS: Only thing nice I will say its got a bright clear display. Ease of install fine.. CONS::> EASILY READS BETWEEN 90 TO 100 DEGREES HOTTER THAN CAR IS RUNNING. NOT ACCURATE AT ALL. AFTER HRS OF TROUBLE SHOOTING CHECKING CONNECTIONS AND REDOING GROUND AND RE CALIBRATING NOTHING ADJUSTED OR FIXED. STILL OFF. STILL NOT CORRECT. GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR I GUESS. Update: Requested exchange. if this one does the same thing. I will be asking for refund. Waiting for new one to arrive Update: See attached pics . Replacement installed. Now reading around 20 deg less than actual temp. Not ideal but can live with that vs 80 to 100 deg over.

Great Addition for Car
Used this on my old 1995 Buick Century to supplement the factory gauge. It works like a charm! Very happy with this purchase. Easy to install, but keep in mind you'll likely need to cut into a radiator cooling hose to add the splice. You'll need to order a radiator hose adapter. Amazon has a great variety of these and they're priced very right (cheap). I would recommend buying it.

Easy to read and functional but inaccurate
To be a fair review, you have to be objective. Don't expect Autometer for $22 shipped. The gauge works, however it's definitely off by at least 10 or more degrees. 204 on the gauge shows around 192 or so at the thermostat housing with infrared, right where the sensor is attached. I bought this knowing it was a temporary use gauge. I was installing electric fans in a classic mustang and just needed to see if the fans stopped working. Accuracy is poor, 2 stars there. Easy to install and read? 5 stars each. Overall a 3 for me. It's job is reasonably accurate temp and it failed there, but serves as the benchmark I needed.

Nice gauge easy to read very accurate
Seems to be accurate according to my scanners live data feed and a infrared heat gun temp actually advances faster than the PCM reads. Display is bright and warning light lights up at 212-213 degrees Fahrenheit. Install can be difficult depending on the vehicle. The only thing that I didn't like is the temp gauge starts off at 104°F before it starts to read.

It gives me fast and accurate temperature readings.
I like this item because it gives me immediate specific temperature feedback. I installed it in a 1929 Model A Ford and those cars can easily overheat when driving for long trips. With this digital meter I can see the direction the temperature is going and can adjust my driving immediately to control the engine temperature. With the old needle you can not see any small change in temperature. By the time the position of the needle shows a change, you would have to really change how you were driving in order to avoid a problem. With this gauge a passenger never even knows I've changed driving habits.
