Better than nipple waterers
We have a nipple waterer and even though the chickens can use it, they prefer these cups. Here in Georgia where it's so hot the nipple waterers don't release enough water fast enough. These cups hold a good quantity of water and don't require you to train your chickens in order to use them. We haven't had any problems with leakage and since our waterer is hooked to a bucket in the chicken run we just use the impact nozzle on the hose to give them a quick squirt every morning to wash them out. Revised review: It’s now been a couple of months and I am no longer pleased with this product. If anything bumps these cups the plastic nut is forced back over the plastic threads and can no longer be tightened enough to prevent leaks. We have tried everything to fix this and nothing works for more than a few hours. The cups are great but the nut and bolt attachment system is not.

Best quail watering system yet.
I have used these for 2 years now and I really appreciate them. I recommend buying the 1/2 inch pvc Tees that have the 1/8 FIP outlet to mount them on. We make an L shaped pvc mount for them and attach it to the side of our pens. It is plumbed to a 30 gal plastic barrel. These are reliable and don't have the scaling problem that the nipple waterers do. We do have to scoop out sand every once and a while. Putting a board under them has helped to keep them clean longer.

Solved my problem
Quality and easy install, solved my issue of empty bowls for my chickens. Add them to a 5 gallon bucket, place the cups low to the bucket bottom, think gravity.

Best way I've found to water all my chickens. And worth every penny!
In my 70's, I've used about all of the different options to water my two yards of chickens. It seems nothing lasts very long without leaking. I wanted to provide enough water to last about a week at a time. The nipples and Peck cups were not the answer as my chickens would not use them enough to be well hydrated in this Texas heat. They drank very little, even after I removed all other water from the pens. These cups are great, providing enough available water so that I always see chickens drinking and they don't leak out. These even fit the holes from the nipples and Peck cup waters I had been using. Absolutely love these water cups!

Well built with fewer moving parts than other "float" waterers
These are a simple design and hold a nice amount of water in the bowl. I had no problems with leaking when the bowl was full. They threaded right in to a 1/8" female pipe thread, so were an easy install in my PVC pipe system. They are easy to clean with a squirt of the hose about once every day or two. One did snap off when one of our heavy broilers jumped on it while being caught to go to the butcher shop. Possibly threading it all the way till it bottoms out against my 1/2" PVC to 1/8" FPT adapter would have made it stronger. (More support)

The best chicken yard sddition yet.
Our power went out the day after I installed these bowls in a 55 gal. Barrel with an auto float devise. Perfect timing. No more power outage worries for me with my chickens. Changed my mind. I went out this afternoon to find a bowl on the ground and my water pouring out through the snapped off stem. Too easily broken. Ill probably have to build a new system. These are not secure enough for my chickens. Even my 2 month old chicks too them over. I'm hoping to find something studied so as to not waste my 55 gal. Barrel I still holes in.

This makes for a decent waterer...
These watering cups are a decent idea, but the cups are easily broken off. I think the idea is a good one asit is easy to install, cups are easy to just wipe out, and it is easy to fill from the top. We had to put a cone-shaped device on top to keep the hens/roosters off the top of the bucket. But after just a couple of weeks, the plastic attachment knob came off of one cup and all of the water drained out through that cup. We might have tried gluing it back on but the little knob that hooks onto the valve went missing (hopefully it wasn't eaten!) so we ended up removing that cup and plugging the hole. Our chickens do like to drink from it, and the cups stay fairly clean compared to our conventional waterers which get filthy from hens scratching around. I think if the parts were heavier duty, this could improve the product.

Perfect for our chickens!
These were so easy to install! We were replacing some of the peck-activated cups (that our chickens didn't seem able to figure out), and luckily the holes were the same size, but they even included a drill bit to ensure a correct fit! These are awesome. They don't overflow, since they tilt down to shut the valve once they are full. We love these and will definitely get them again!
