I bought a YN 300 III to use as a portable video light with a Canon 70D, but ended up using it in the studio and on a stand most of the time. Hence my purchase of the YONGNUO American Standard Power Supply Adapter.Operation was glitch free: it powered the YN 300 III at full tilt and without getting hot. Unlike the power brick that ships with the YN 300 III, this power cord is long enough to be used on a Manfrotto 1052 light stand near full extension.This Power Supply Adapter isn't compatible with the older YN 300 II (no power input socket). Well, maybe it would work if you can find a compatible "dummy" battery to plug the adapter into.The YONGNUO Power Supply Adapter is a handy accessory and sure beats changing batteries in long sessions.

Works as described - I use this adapter with the Yongnuo YN-216 video light. The cords on this are extremely looooong, so you may not need to use an extension cord or power strip if you are reasonably close to an outlet (even on a fully extended light stand). Quality construction, and no "buzzing" that you usually get with aftermarket power adapters.

Size wise, it's almost the size of a regular laptop battery charger.It definitely gets the job done.With battery I could only use YN300 III light for couple hours. With this I can turn the light on for a whole day.I would not hesitate to recommend this for YN300 III lights.

I used to used rechargeable battery on my Yongnuo. Every time on a project, I have to recharge my batteries 2 to 3 times. I got fed up and purchase this item. It save tons of my time, just plug in and go. It's a game changer!

I bought this adapter, as it was the recommended plug for the two Yongnuo lights I bought. To be clear, I can only use it on one light at a time, however it works on both my Yongnuo YN300 Air and YN300. So far, it's been great and no issues. It cost a little over $20, but it's cheaper than buying batteries and more convenient if your primary use is going to be near an available outlet. I'm thinking to buy a second adapter, as having to charge the batteries on one of my lights frequently is a bit of an annoyance. And, I'm thinking about getting a third Yongnuo light but maybe the 600 LED version. While I hadn't heard about Yongnuo up until a few months ago, their products work pretty well together (like the app to control multiple Yonguo lights) and were highly rated / reviewed on Amazon and elsewhere.I took off a star, as it's expensive for a generic adapter. There's also another power adapter by Yongnuo that costs half the price and is compatible with the YN300 and YN216 lights.

Using with my Yongnuo YN 300 III (version 3) LED Video light did not come with a a power adapter. The batteries only last a couple of hours when using at medium+ power output. This power adapter works great when I have the LED lights at a fixed location during shoots/events. The chord is long enough to use in combo with a tall light stand.

Nice length and works as a plug in power source for YN 360iii (because its 12V)

I've ordered this product twice, from 2 different sellers, and both shipped the WRONG item:3C4U@USLAMZIXThere's an 8V and 12V version. Some Yongnuo lights require a maximum of 8V, and some 12V. This one pictures the 8V model, but I received the 12V from one of the sellers, and will have to return it. You must read the back of the Yongnuo light to see the maximum voltage, then read the output voltage listed on the back of the AC adapter, to be sure they match.I changed this to 1 star because it's so difficult to simply purchase the required power supply for 8V Yongnuo lights. B&H sell the lights, but not the power supply. I bought it from Adorama, because it specifically said "8V" on the webpage, but I received the same 12V one again. There's many sellers on Amazon, but no indication of which one actually sells the 8V AC adapter.I don't want to keep buying them and having to return them. It is wrong to sell the Yongnuo lights that require 8V, but not have a simple way to also buy the matching power supply. How are customers like me supposed to actually use the light if the product page selling the 8V model actually ships the 12V one, and there's no other page or info about how to buy the 8V one?
