KA-BARPolyester Sheath for Mule Folders, Black

You can put this on your belt either vertically or horizontally; when worn vertically it sticks well above your belt and pokes you in the side but when worn horizontally it's much more comfortable than than any worn vertically. A mechanic by trade I often find myself crawling under the dash of an automobile and my old sheaths would hang up on the seat and door jambs, not this baby. It doesn't hang up on seat belts or my creeper either, as matter of fact off hand I can't recall it hanging up on anything. It takes some getting used to pulling your knife out horizontally and replacing it but it's all just muscle memory and in time will feel as natural as a more traditional sheath did. If you wear a coat it's actually easier since you don't have to lift your coat up high enough to clear the sheath, you can just kind of reach up under the hem and slide it out straight forward. The flap has a snap AND velcro to hold it shut so it's held quite securely. I bought this because my knife  Cold Steel Voyager Lg. Tanto Plain Edge Knife  didn't come with a sheath and since it's on the large side for a folder was having trouble finding one that would fit, this one fits but just. All in all a nice sheath, especially for the price. I would recommend this to a friend.UPDATE- I ordered another sheath for my  Leatherman 831102 Super Tool-300 Multitool with a Sheath  to use instead of the one that comes with it. It fits like a glove, you'd think it was designed specifically for it. It holds the tool much more securely and is far more comfortable to carry. Knife on right hip, multitool on left, neither gets in the way when worn horizontally.

Shipping was on time and sheath arrived packaged well. Fits the KA BAR lock blade knife perfectly. Mounts vertically or horizontally with button/velcro secured belt loops. Also mounts to tactical bag easily because of these loops.Sheath is pretty tough and has not ripped or frayed as of now. It has lost some form due to being slammed against doors and other obstacles as I maneuver through my dqy, but all in all is really tough and we'll made.After 4 months of use daily the sheath buttons have become a little weak, but has yet to fall off my belt completely at job sites of getting in and out of trucks. Was worth the money to keep my KA BAR on my side and will buy another when this wears out completely.

Works ok for molle gear. But, if you just want a practical sheath to put on your belt comfortably, I just can't find a way.

Great gift

Will fit a large folder 5 1/2 in closed. Single stitched but well made with Velcro plus snap button closures on front and back. Attaches vertically or horizontally to a 2 in duty belt.

Use them to carry Glock 22 .40 cal mags sideways on my duty belt. Makes it more comfortable when driving the car or crouching down you don't have vertical mags digging into your stomach.

The sheath is perfect for the Kabar Mule folder and the price is good. Good fit. Original sheath for the Mule. Use as a replacement sheath or if original is missing. Also available in tan. Horizontal or vertical carry modes. Velcro and snap closure. Good quality.
