Figure on short life. Your advocate rates this a high maintenance product
It's a shame that the Chinese can't understand their products do not last. I have 40 solar yard products. I was pleasantly pleased by actually ordering a part for a US made solar spot. My garden guy string trimmed my stake holding the spot on the ground. It cost me 12.00 but I talked to a guy in Indiana and they actually had stock. ADVOCATE FIRST RULE- BUY THE BEST YOU CAN AFFORD. Now, as to this product. No manufacturer address. 1 month after I got 1 St one, the trash 600 mah nicad bit the dust. Easy enough to replace. Pull end cap off. Trouble came 5 months later. Opened it up. All electrical contacts solid rust. Only 1 cheap led also. It's a shame. Outer case I think is stainless steel. The pole is steel. The stake is brittle plastic. Thrown 2 away because they snap off. And I don't have Beging yellow pages. Why do you sell this stuff Amazon? Updated info- I again paid for another of these lights now being distributed thru a different vendor. I did not state in first part of this review that in fact there are two LEDs, but one is for white light and one led changes color. There is a switch to change between colors. The new version claims to have a special film inside the stainless steel box enhancing brightness. I did notice the new version seems brighter on white setting. Weak design points include the multi-section shepherd hook that hoods the lantern. It is a weak design. The parts do not thread together and the ground plastic spike is fragile. My unit actually had the shepherd rod assy fall apart. There are better built alternatives.
