Love the long pole
With the 30 inch pole you don’t have to bend down to open the gate. We open and close our gate often during the day so this makes my wife happy. I used these for a homemade double gate so I had to retrofit them slightly. 1) I mounted the slide brackets slightly lower than instructed in order to get the pole to stick deeper into the ground (making them a bit stronger). By design I knew that doing this would make the “V” post holder ineffective as it would be too low and the post would drag. I initially intended to add a wood block to the gate to supplement as a holder but my horizontal board design was able to accommodate this by allowing the post handles to simply hang on the rail when the gate is open. 2) I also had to cut grooves into the gate for the flush mounted post to slide since they weren’t made for flush mounting. Easy retrofit. Could have mounted a 2x block for this but the notch was quicker and easier. See photos for ideas. Super happy that I bought these 30” and for the same price as 12 or 18”. Can’t beat it.

No sleeve so having something just big enough for the rod's diameter will be key
Worried it wouldn't work in the sandy area I tried to use these, I used metal stands meant for holding solar garden lights that were just large enough to use as guide placeholders for the rod in the down position and it works kind of great so far. Item is good and would suggest it if you want a sturdy ground point of pinning your gate closed or to inertia keep it open if not sink it to the ground to provide the same.

Great product with a minor fault
This product is easy to attach, very sturdy and comes with plenty of self tapping screws. It’s the perfect fit for our sliding barn doors on our horse barn. Small fault - The portion to hold the drop bar in the up position is too short and level so the handle tends to slide down. I ended up removing the “v” and welding a longer piece to be able to keep the handle in the up position.

Easy install-pilot hole or impact driver big help-Consider the strength need of said rod.
Likes: easy install, matched gate well, Dislikes-No hanger or assembly to hold rod up BUT if you used the versa gate kit, the rod can be turned and rest on middle support just fine. Caution: The rod was purchased for one side of 7x14 privacy gate. The gate interior faces south and gets hammered in a southwest wind (most common in my area). I have chain link on other three sides so no windbreak there. The rod held on but bent a good bit on first test. Now hard to slide up and down. Considering how much energy is leveraged on that rod with a 14 foot sail of privacy fence, not surprised. Going to have cut some thick U stock metal and a piece of square tube to make a support for significant wind events.

Rod girth...
I bought this rod based on a review that indicated it was 1/2in, it's not it's instead with coating a 9/16in rod, which means now I have to get a grinder and remove the old rod mounting that's welded or drill it to make this thing fit. My own stupidity for not confirming the actual dimensions before buying it. It is however a substantial upgrade over what's out there currently, and broken. So I'll probably be raising this rating after I get busy with my drill and grinder to make this thing fit. Update, after some grinding and getting better mounting hardware this solution is now attached to my gate and laughed off a nasty storm. It was well worth the work to get it installed.

Good value drop rod
Product does a good job for what it is. It was just difficult for me to get the self tapping screws started so I drilled pilot holes and they sunk in fine. The pin catch at the top is very rudimentary. It’s just a thin strip of metal shaped like a V that is perpendicular to the ground. While I haven’t experienced this yet it seems like the pin could easily slip off the top catch and drop down. Otherwise it does a fine job and doesn’t take much to install.

Works great
Put up a new vynal fence this past summer and needed a better lock on the gate to keep my 80# dog from trying to open it. This solved the problem.

Not compatible with Adjust a gate kits as described.
The rod and bracket itself are nice quality and feel sturdy but they have a serious design flaw. If you attempt to install them to a standard Adjust-a-gate AG36 kit as shown on the product box they are not compatible. The bracket causes the rod to clash with the lower 2x4 and wood screws. If you have a custom gate this may suit the bill but the drop rod holes being in line with the bracket should be a consideration. It would be possible to install one facing towards the center of a double gate but not two.
