Ouch! It's a hard plastic!
These were NOT soft or spongy in any way. There is a very thin layer of gel covering a very hard plastic. As soon as you stepped down on it, pain shoots through your foot. I have to wonder who's writing all of these rave reviews. Because, if you truly have plantar fasciitis, this will bring you to your knees in pain. Used them for about 10 minutes, and threw them in the trash... 10 minutes is about as long as I could tolerate wearing them without crying. But, I did try. I felt it necessary to write this review, because if you are a sufferer of PF like I am, and looking for some relief, honestly, look elsewhere. Good luck!

Very uncomfortable the rubber is not tight like I hopped I'm not going to bore you with details but over all it was a terrible buy. Should have listened to the comments before me.
