UPDATED: FIVE STARS PLUS! TRACK PROVEN RACING OIL!
I use for break in and regular fill ups both! Has critical additive in oil zddp! I have now used for a few years with no issues. Comp Cams says that this oil is to be used not for just break in but also for regular use since the cam needs the extra zddp for the life of the engine. I love this product and it's price is great even though there are about 5 products out there that are equal, the prices are not. If this oil is out of stock, then try Valvoline VR1 racing oil, Royal Purple, Lucas Oil Hot Rod oil or Racing Oil, Mobile 1 Racing Oil, AMSOIL Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil, and Brad Penn oil. BUT ALWAYS USE BREAK IN OIL ADDITIVE WHEN DOING INITIAL BREAK IN!!!

Exactly what you need to break in an older 70's model engine
Perfect break in oil for a 70's model engine with flat tappet lifters and cam. Loaded with the Zinc the oil companies have had to remove as ordered bythe EPA to protect catalytic converters. I plan on using it all the time since I don't drive except to car shows and occasional use.

Been running now for ~9000 miles
I have a 1971 C-10 with a 402 big block original to the truck. The engine was built with a Comp Cams 268H and bored .30 over. It runs hotter than stock due to the bore. I've run break in oil every oil change and now have roughly 9000 miles on the build. It's all I will use in my hydraulic cam engines and I own several. Why gamble when you know this has the required zinc for the older engines?

Used this oil along with a zinc additive
Used this oil along with a zinc additive ran engine on the dyno for an half hour at 2000rpm with no load and then a few ups and downs with load to seat the rings... no blow by cam seems to be excellent not much on the drain plug some is expected with a new engine.. oil was very thin when drained replaced with a synthetic oil and zinc additive made about 12 pulls to 6200 rpm oil pressure good no blow by excellent stuff... I've wiped a cam in no time with a different oil highly recommended this oil to start you need the zinc or you will wipe the cam and have to replace it... then buy the expensive oil in the end ànyway.. dont be cheap like I was the first time ...people blame it on cams and lifters but in the end it the combination of minor errors that lead up to a failure. I should get a free case for this review... hint ;)

All in all good product with poor shipping container and delivery.
Oil worked great for breaking in my rebuilt engine but when it arrived at my house the case was very flimsy cardboard that had been opened up and not resealed in any way. No tape no nothing. I checked seals on all the jugs and they had not been tampered with .
