Expensive but nice to have more sensors in the house. I waited 2 years and finally caught a great sale on these. I used to just move my one sensor around to the room most affected by the current season, but had to sit it on top of things (out of the reach of children) so it would be in less useful areas. Now I have two mounted above my kids' doors away from air vents to better make sure their room temps are ok, and one that I move between my bedroom in winter and my office in summer. No complaints.

I enjoy how well this sensor works.

Had to buy these Ecobee thermostat sensors due to my old sensor failure after the battery was depleted. Replaced the battery from my collection of spare batteries but it won't synchronize with the thermostat due to replacement battery voltage at 3 volts. I bought new replacement batteries at 3.3 volts and the old sensor started synchronizing properly with the thermostat. I am glad I did not throw away this old sensor as it still works. Now I have more working sensors in my house.

They balance and average out the temperature pretty well, working alongside my Ecobee smart thermostat. I have a sub-floor house, so the bottom of my house is in the ground, where its always at least 10 degrees or more cooler than the topside of the house.They sit well wherever you want to use them and they come with wall mounts screws just in case. They sync right up to everything on the app and you can have it working within 2 minutes honestly. A little on the expensive side just to be two small temp monitors, but according the paperwork, they will last several years before needed to replace the battery.

To set up the sensor watch the video on Amazon called How to set up .... It is easier to follow than the printed directions. I got the sensor because a room in my home (my office) that I use frequently was warmer than other rooms. I wanted it to cool down when I was using that room. That is what this is designed for. At first I got some interesting results and I was forced to contact Ecobee support. Phone support routed me to a recording that basically said they were too busy and I should call back at another time or call an AC contractor. I did not appreciate that response, so the next day I sent them my issue on their contact form. A few days later I got a very good response. Below is their response which is very informative and explains the photo I attached and might be helpful to you.From Ecobee: In parenthesis, ((I add some context))The big temperature number displayed on the thermostat screen is the Average temperature readings between the Sensors participating at that time ((my Office and my living room where the Ecobee unit is installed)). It is not the thermostat temperature. You can uncheck the thermostat from the Sensor participation in case you want the A/C to work as per the office Smart Sensor readings. (( This means that I could just use the office to determine the temperature for the whole house.)) We can modify the Sensor participation on the thermostat or on the Ecobee appOn the thermostat, please tap on the Main Menu (three lines on top right) > gear icon on the bottom right > Sensors>Select the Sensor >ParticipationOnce the thermostat is unchecked from the participation, the big number displayed on the app or the thermostat will be the temperature reading of the Office Smart Sensor only.Thank you for contacting ecobee Support. Apologies for the delay in responding! We are currently dealing with a higher number of requests than usual, which has impacted our response times.Further info from Ecobee:There are basically 2 ways of using the SmartSensor. One way is that we can enable both the thermostat and sensor to participate. In this case, the HVAC unit will work as per the average temperature between the thermostat and the SmartSensor. Another option is that we can uncheck the thermostat from participation and then the HVAC unit will only work as per the temperature reported by the SmartSensor. Basically, your SmartSensor will become the thermostat in this case. You can configure the participation as per the schedule. For example, if you want during night time, the HVAC unit should only work as per the SmartSensor then we can uncheck the thermostat from participation during the night schedule. Likewise, we can check or uncheck thermostats and sensors during different hours of the day as per the scheduled setup.Bottom Line : Great answer and helps me get my home to what I want.

Total game changer. Before installing these, the room we spent most of our time in it was always freezing because the room where the thermostat was was always three to eight degrees warmer and a/c was constantly kicking in. Put two of these throughout the house and it does a great job of averaging out the temperature. Set up was ridiculously easy and fast. So glad I switched away from my Google Nest Ecobee products!
