Daily Studies for Diatonic Harmonica Paperback – April 2, 2019

This is one of the many books written by David Barrett. He is arguably the most renowned teacher of blues harmonica. This book gives you direction on what and how to practice. Included are online audio examples. It's a great guide. I would highly recommend anything from David Barrett as I have been participating in his online lessons and have been very impressed. You can get a trial month free when you buy a hohner harmonica. Most of the teaching is with a key of A so get that one. There is a section for key of C if that's what you already have.

I started playing harmonica about 1 year ago. I purchased both the harmonica and blues harmonica for dummies books. They were a good starting point along with watching YouTube videos.After a lot of practice and learning to play over blows, bends along with music theory this book is exactly what I was looking.The book along with the online audio mp3's is done really well.There are only 80 pages in the book but don't let that fool you. There is a ton of great information and instruction. I would high recommend this book.Enjoy

Learning scales for each mode is enlightening. It not only increases your fluidity but offers loads of ideas for moving about on the harmonica.

Dave Barrett always provides detailed descriptions of what one should do when learning harmonica. This book is no difference. It is smaller than other books he has written (fewer pages) but chock full of good information. I'm about half-way through the book now.

This review has nothing to do with the content. The print size on the Kindle version is microscopic and cannot be enlarged. Not useful! The author/publisher needs to go back and create a proper Kindle version. Unfortunately I cannot get a refund on this.
