Slightly oversized
This is a direct replacement for the original Hayward 1082 on my pool. After awhile, I realized that this weir door would stick closed. A slight poke would open it right up, but I can't rely on it always swinging open when the pump is running. I never had that issue with the original (which about lasted 10 years until the swivel hinge at the bottom cracked and it didn't open/close properly). I have used sandpaper to shave down the edges slightly - still fine tuning to get it to open every time. The door is a quality replacement - so 4 stars for that - but the fit issue is a bit of a problem.

Worked with a small adjustment
Even though it was the same part number the top area was too wide. My husband has a commercial saw and was able to shave a small amount from eash side. Now it freely flaps up and down in the skimmer

My original weir replacement had a broken spring tab on the one side. Searched up the part number here on Amazon, this one came up, and it was a direct replacement. Easy to install, solid Hayward quality.

Hard to tell from picture, but it's white. My system is grey, but you really can't tell. It fit right and was easy to install.

I needed this weir door for my skimmer. It has greatly helped my pools skimmer from allowing floating debris to re-enter the main area of the pool. I had a storm for the past two days here and prior to receiving this part I would of had dozens of leaves in the pool. Now there might be one or two at best. My skimmer basket though was filled to the brim. If you're looking for a replacement or if your skimmer did not come with the weir door I highly suggest ordering this product.
