It WORKS! Just buy it.
FINALLY!!! This bowl works perfectly against our Argentine ant army. After years of using moats, and other water devices, this one actually works. And the best part, no water! I had my doubts, but the proof is in the picture. Not a single ant in the metal bowl, while the standard bowl was infested. Buy it now!

An item that actually does what it says it will do
I leave dry cat food out for a couple of the stray cats. It was always throwing out the leftovers because those ants were all over the food. I sure didn't want to bring them back inside the house or garage. Anyway, this crazy dish actually works! No ants. It doesn't keep the crows away but at least the boys (strays) don't have to fight with the ants for the food. I am purchasing another dish because, like most strays, they don't share.

Works if used correctly.
I got this dish for a stray cat that has taken up residency in my backyard. Works for wet and dry food. I live in Florida and we have ants year round. The dish keeps ants out if used correctly. I'm keeping mine on a flat, debris free surface with its sides not touching anything. It only takes a leaf or twig or being placed with the sides touching a wall or structure for ants to find a way in. With that being said, my star deduction is an improvement suggestion: the lower edge of the outer rim could be a little higher. I think it would make it even better/easier to keep bugs out.

Doesn't work
I bought this for my outside cat with the hope that it would keep ants from getting into her food bowl. Unfortunately after I put food in this bowl for her meal, about an hour went by and I went outside to check and ants were all inside the bowl. So it did not keep the ants out, at all.

Ants aren't able to get into the bowl
We have ants on our porch. They absolutely cannot crawl up into this bowl. It is fantastic. The pet food stays ant free.
