Time for Change: Four Essential Skills for Transformational School and District Leaders (Educational Leadership Development for Change Management) (Solutions)

A great book for every educator to add to their personal library.
This is a great book that addresses four essential skills for transformational school and district leaders. This book is an easy read that outlines the why, the who, the how and the do (action) of how to promote change at your school. I personally loved the emphasis in chapter five on calling out adult behavior. How often do we sit in meetings to discuss underachieving student data, and we don’t dig deep to discuss the teaching practices also associated with the student data. To create change, it is important to look at all the factors and diagnose the entire problem. Not just place blame the kids, COVID, or any other situational factor. It is important to believe that ALL kids can learn. It is important to use data to identify areas for improvement. As professionals, we need to work together to make informed decisions about instructional practices and interventions. If you create a strong, collaborative school leadership team that builds strong partnerships with families to support student learning, I truly believe you will see higher academic achievements in your students. Great book, I highly recommend it.

A Must Read for Anyone in School Leadership
If you are a school leader, chances are that you have had to deal with resistance from faculty members before --- and chances are that your efforts to deal with resistance have had mixed results. How do I know?I'm a classroom teacher who resists LOTS of change initiatives in my school. If that sounds familiar to you, you've GOT to pick up this book. Here's why: In it, Luis Cruz and Anthony Muhammad explain the four main reasons that people resist and then give you practical strategies to address that resistance.Their argument is a simple one: Successfully addressing resistance can only start once you identify the reasons for resistance --- and those reasons could be different for each of the people who are resisting within your building. It was a brilliant read that I wish every single one of my principals had read.

Great read!
This book is a game changer! It tells you exactly what you need to know to change adult behavior on a campus with student achievement as the primary goal for the change. It gives scenarios at the end of most chapters so that you may reflect on your new learning. I love it!

Leadership for all, not just principals and superintendents
This Is one of the 1st books that takes the next step in the PLC process. It assumes that you are at "step 2" and allows those that are there to move forward without having to review the basics. Exceptionally meaningful.
