Seattle Sports RS - 7" Universal Canoe Replacement Blocks (Pair), Gray (068822)

I've used blocks like this for my canoe, but I bought these to support a water tank on my van roof cargo bars. I just cut the indents out to about a 10" diameter curve, sat them on the bars, the tank upon them, and strapped it down. Excellent adaptation, and they are serving well.

I have a long truck so the front of my canoe does not go past my windshield, and the front roof rack does not touch the canoe at all. These blocks saved me because I can slip them under the front of the bow to keep it off the truck. They fit well over the gunwales and have a slip resistant material on the bottom to prevent movement. I was also able to easily modify them by cutting out a portion with a razor blade to fit them over the carry handle better. If I did not have a roof rack, I would use four of these.

These pads seemed to hold up well and they transported my canoe without any issues. They seem like they might wear out over time but so far they seem like a good product.

Used on a car with elliptical cross-bars and a canoe with aluminum rails. Worked very well.

Product dimensions are more like 4x4x7 inches each, not 9.3 x 8 x 4.5 inches like it says in the description. You may have to buy 2 sets for your application. I bought one set and needed to cut open the notches to fit my roof bars. After doing so I'm afraid the foam is just going to continue to rip because the foam looses much of its integrity once altered.

I apologize for my previous review, for I thought it was a different product I had purchased previously. These cartop carrier canoe blocks are well-designed, larger than most and have a special coated grip surface to protect your vehicle and keep the blocks from slipping. One thing to note; since these blocks are larger (both height and width) than some, they may not match the height of your previous kit if you're ordering these as replacements. I would recommend two sets as a complete block carrier set. You'll be pleased with these blocks.

They performed as expected. We used them under the canoe and we loaded the canoe on top of the Camry and strapped it down with nylon straps. We looped one strap through the backseat of the Camry. We drove approximately 5 hours to our destination without a problem. We drove 5 hours back. The foam blocks protected the roof of the car.

These blocks worked great to protect the roof of our SUV. We used with our older, very heavy fibreglass canoe. They stayed on well (all 20 hrs of driving). Easy to put on and easy to remove. Definitely would recommend these!

Fits great over stock 4runner roof racks. To oval section hugs them great. Hopefully it'll clear that stupid shark fin antenna.
