8 Pack - Melon Cradle - Plant & Garden Support Protector for Watermelon, Squash, Pumpkin - Holds up to 8 lbs

I purchased these as my honeydew and cantaloupe were sitting in the grass and I didn't want them getting damaged/eaten by bugs. The quality of the cradles seem pretty good (plastic) and the tag says it holds up to 8 lbs. I'm not sure if being in the sun will make the plastic brittle and not last for the next year. The spike in person looks much shorter than what the stock photos show. I measured it and it's 2.25 inches in height. The width of the cradle is 8 inches x 6.5 inches. I don't remember what it said in the listing to compare if it's accurate but that's the measurements I got. Even though the spike isn't as tall as what the stock photos seem to show, it still works well to support the melons by not having them rest directly in the grass and I actually placed another order as I have more baby melons growing!

Getting the melon off the ground is important to prevent rot. This works great.

Bought these for my first try at growing icebox watermelon. I wanted to keep them off the soil so that they don't rot or get buggy. So far, so good. One was cracked when it arrived, but it still is usable. Does the job it is intended to do.

These worked great for my melon plants. I will be purchasing more before next summer.

This year my wife tried her hand at growing pumpkins and gourds. The first batch came out great on top but discolored and starting to rot at the bottom. Then we found this great product. Very solid, well made, definitely reusable and able to support our pumpkins. They lift the pumpkins out of the dirt and allow the air to circulate. The second batch of pumpkins are coming out perfect! This was a great purchase and included great follow up communication from the seller.

I am growing cantaloupes for the first time and had read that using melon cradles to keep them off the ground may keep them from rotting and may keep them in a more round shape. These seem to be well made and were easy to spear into the ground. I am happy with them and may order more if I get more melons growing.
