Quality, natural hair color. Not harsh on hair.
I love this product. It’s been exactly the same formula for the over 30 years I’ve used it. It looks almost exactly like my original hair color and it doesn’t wash out for 2-3 months. Touchups are easy.

Simple yet stunning
For 4 years, I did the real henna treatment that took 6 hours, smelled terrible and was a horrible mess to clean up... I was pleasantly surprised to find this product and wish I had found it sooner because it is SO simple to use. All you do is wash your hair and squeeze the product into your hair, then cover. The instructions say to leave on for an hour, but knowing how henna works, I leave mine on for 2 hours. I did read that for those trying to cover grey that this product was not successful but that's because they didn't leave it on long enough. I have MUCH more grey than I like to admit, but trust me - its there!! This product is scent free, does not drip down your face or stain your skin. My hair is thin and down to my bra strap in the back. One bottle is enough to cover all my hair. If you have thick long hair I would suggest two bottles. The good news is that if you don't use it all, just cover it with plastic wrap and save it for the next use. Since there is no mixing you don't have to use it all at once. This product leaves my natural brown hair a darker brown with beautiful reddish high lights. The grey turns a beautiful reddish color that is lighter than the brown So the end result looks as though I had my hair professionally high lighted. It also coats the hair and leaves it very soft and a little thicker than regular hair dyes. The henna actually coats the hair rather than absorbing into the hair - which is a nice plus for someone like me with baby thin hair. And because I do have lots of grey that grows in fast, I color my hair about every three weeks. You can actually color as many times as you like since there are no harsh chemicals in this product. I have used this product about 6 times now (rotating with the burgundy for a little change in color :) ONE MORE THING: The color takes about two days to oxidize and settle into the "true" color. So don't be shocked if when you rinse and dry your hair it seems brassy. That fades in a day or two and the beautiful color shows up :)

Colora Henna, Light Brown, not exactly...
Background:I had previously used Colora Henna in 'Brown' on my overprocessed honey blonde hair with dark ash blonde roots. The results were ok- the blonde ends turned to a medium golden dark blonde, but mt dark ash blonde roots turned a dark reddish chestnut color. Once this faded (about 6 weeks) to a washed out gold color I decided to use the 'Light Brown' to even everything out and let my dark ash blonde hair grow out. Results: to my shock and dismay, after mixing the 'Light Brown' pack of henna with my own recipe (substitute the water with apple cider vinger, which helps it wash out easier, then adding chamomile tea and an egg for conditioning), and setting the paste on my hair for 4 hours, my hair came out a bright coppery red! I'm not sure if this is due to the acidity in the acv causing the henna to release more red pigment or if the 4hr set was too long, but my hair is most definatly NOT light brown. It is very, very very copper red. I most certainly won't be using Colora again (unless I want red hair) which is unfotunate because I really liked the packaging, instruction booklet and the shade of the resulting color. However it was not at all what I wanted. Instead I will be going with the Light Mountain Natural kits, which have rave reviews, to attain something close to my natural dark ash blonde color. I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for non-red, brown results (which is what it is supposed to be!). I suggest that Colora examine their henna-to indigo-and cassia ratios of their mixes before packaging and distribution.

updated review
. Today, finally I tried this product, the Colora henna creme in auburn. I had great doubt of the effectiveness of it. Without ammonia and peroxide as fixing agents, I doubted its ability to color over my natural color. I have redish hair where it was dyed and lightened. But about 2 1/2" of medium brown where it has grown out. This was the part I was most interested in seeing the results, as that would give me a true picture of the effectiveness of the henna. I left it on 2 full hours. The package says 1 hour or longer if deeper color is desired. The results of the part of my hair that was grown out to it's natural med brown color were amazing and wonderful. It looks like it did when I was in my 20's, with the vibrant auburn but not a contrived "dyed" look to it. The rest, of course, is a much brighter red as you would expect, but pretty never the less. Well, I am sold. I will continue to let the natural color grow out and gradually cut all the old lighter color off. I can now depend on the henna auburn to give me a beautiful auburn, with out the chemicals I don't want, and with stunning results. I love it. It is a bit inconvenient to need to leave it on 2 hours as opposed to the 25 min I am used to, but the trade off is well worth the extra time. And I can't wait for the old colored part to grow out and be gone and to see a full head of hair done in the stunning auburn as I see now at the 2 1/2" base of my hair. I also might add, with this particular formula, it is one bottle that you apply on your hair. No mixing and no oder what so ever. There were no unpleasant effects to my scalp either. No itching, no stinging. Update:I now have 7" of roots grown out and I have now been using this product for about 6 months or more, not sure. And I can say now, that I will be using this product for ever. After using it this long, I can say for certain that it really does improve the health of hair. My hair still has the uncut part that was previously colored with regular hair coloring. That part, although getting an occasional trim of a 1/2" or so, is in better condition than it used to be. But the really surprising part is that when I take all my hair in hand, it actually feels thicker and more like it used to feel before I ever used any coloring. I can't comment on the other henna of this brand which is a powder that you have to mix. This is a liquid that you just apply and wait.

Staying Power and quality of color
I loved the lighting fast shipping from the seller and prime. I was thrilled to try this brand to see if it was easier for my son to get it done. Just so happens he said it was and he liked it better. So with that being said I have say also that the price was fab too. Moving on to the scent well let's just say it's a bit lighter of a smell however it's still quite a deterrent. That's ok because it's Henna. Ty and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Good Henna Product
I have used henna in the past, but a different brand. I previously used Sunset Glo Hennalucent, which has been discontinued. This is an excellent replacement. The texture of the henna seems about the same as hennalucent & the results were definitely similar, if not exact. It is hard to tell, as my hair used to be "virgin" hair, and this time I was putting the henna on top of colored & highligthed hair. It is important that you know what henna is and have realistic expectations before using/reviewing this product. It is messy, smelly and kind of a pain to clean up and rinse out of your hair. However, knowing this, and having used henna MANY times before, I was prepared and found it to be quite easy. I use 2 boxes for my medium length hair. I put towels down on the floor and covering the sink while I am applying it so that I don't make a mess of my bathroom. Once it is on my hair, I wrap my entire head (obviously not my face) with saran wrap to eliminate dripping. When it comes time to rinse, I use a TON of conditioner to help get the gritty henna out of my hair. Make sure to clean/rinse your shower curtain and tub right away because the henna can stain! I don't find it to be that much more of a pain than regular hair dye, but that is just me. I'm not a fan of the smell, but it doesn't bother me either. And, the henna doesn't burn my scalp like regular chemical dyes do. Another important fact...henna is a HUGE pain to remove from your hair. I have gone back & forth from chemical dyes & henna for over 10 years, so it can be done, but it is a pain. You need to grow it out, or you can use a fruit based stripper, or a third option is to highlight the henna out of your hair. I've heard many people say that results of the fruit stripper or highlighting can vary, but with Hennalucent & Colora I've never had a problem. I have not, however, ever tried to put a straight chemical dye over the henna. And, I get TONS of compliments on my very shiny, pretty red hair now! ;)

I like the natural ingredients
I like the natural ingredients, but I found it disappointing. First of all, the color in the bottle is NOT burgundy. It has an orange tint to it. Burgundy should have red or purplish tints. Application is easy, but messy because it's so drippy. I don't know why they made the formula so watery because it doesn't want to stay in your hair. No wonder they warn you not to use it on your eyebrows, because it will drip into your eyes! I tied the plastic bag over my head after application. I tied it as tightly as I could, and I STILL had to wipe off drips. I was supposed to wait at least an hour, but after 45 minutes of wiping dye that threatened to flow into my eyes, I had to go rinse off. To its credit, it does tint grey hairs. Unfortunately the watery mixture and wrong color lead me to dock two stars.
