This is the worst tank design I've ever seen.
While the idea is nice, this is not tank suitable for fish. The surface area of water available is critical for allowing enough oxygen to dissolve. At this height keeping the entire water column oxygenated for your fish is going to be a nightmare. Fish that would normally be ok for a 30g would NOT be ok for this tank because of it's small footprint for gas exchange. Fish need horizontal swimming room, not vertical, this style of tank will merely stress them out.The tank is top heavy and very prone to falling over. There is no way to reach the bottom without the use of a cumbersome tool and forget about getting a gravel vacuum down far enough to clean the gravel. The only worthwhile way to clean the glass would be with a magnetic scraper so you don't have to try and reach a long-handled scrubber in the tank every few days.Bottom line is that I wouldn't recommend this tank for any fish species. You're better off getting a more standard sized tank so you can easily stock and maintain it.

not bad
I have one of these in my entry way. It is tall really tall my children love to set on the floor and look into the tank. Unit comes with plenty of substrate. The lighting is a little small a single bulb it workes but no way your growing a plant. The supplied hang on filter in my opinion is ok for a wile but I'd buy a better one. Under gravel filter with lift tube well it does the best it can. U need a heater 150w workes fine. The PROBLEM with this tank is there is no way to reach the bottom. I purchased a extra long reptile grabber so I can move/remove the decor. And using a gravel vac is tricky to say least I use a long piece of small pvc pipe with the hose attached to it there is no easy way to clean the bottom of the tank. Over all its a great looking tank and is impressive it look at bit hard to clean but o well.

Nice set up but some things you need to consider.
Its a good tank for freshwater zebra or rainbow tetras. It looks stunning once set up and bubbling but they are a challenge when it comes to cleaning. A magnetic cleaner is best for this tank since it's so deep and and you cant really vacuum it so when water change time comes plan on siphoning it down and carrying it outside and dumping it. On a lighter note you don't have to do it that often, I had the triangular model and loved it. Also it can be a bit top heavy if it's set up on carpeted floors but tile is no problem. Good luck.
