Keep booze handy if this is your first traversing install.
I am not sure of the specific name or origins of the ancient witchcraft or wizardry used in concocting these types of rods, or why it would even be necessary to employ such powers, but that is precisely what has happened here. I’m not a curtains guy. I admit that I did not receive the full gay genetic download during conception, so the art of interior design eludes me, but that shouldn’t mean that a traversing curtain rod and I should become mortal enemies, locked in a fierce battle for dominance. In other words, I struggled. A lot. Fortunately, I know myself so I bought two just in case. The remaining one works great and looks amazing. The first one refused to comply and had to be put down, which I did in front of the other one so that it would know just how far I was willing to go and not make the same mistakes as its departed sibling had. I am sure that it was entirely my fault, but the instructions leave a bit to be desired. Good luck!

Not heavy duty
Not heavy duty. I would say medium duty. I would not hang a heavy insulated curtain on this. I think the definition of heavy duty has been down graded. These curtain rods are not hard to install, but it takes two people, and take a little effort to reverse them and set them up differently. All traverse rods are like this. This one is no different.

Not a "heavy duty" rod.
It has been about 9 months and I am very dissatisfied with this product. The listing said it was a "heavy duty" rod that could handle quite large distances. I bought a size up from my length to be certain of the strength because I had a lined, heavy curtain to hang. The rod seems to be holding up but the carrier slides are all breaking. I asked the company for replacements and the sent three. I bet I have already replaced 12 of them. I bought new ones at Home Depot to fill in but it is a hassle to keep having to haul out the ladder, crawl up there and replace these things. Company doesn't stand behind their product unless you are in the warranty period. Don't buy this unless you really aren't looking for a heavy duty curtain rod.

Drapery Rod Has Good and Bad Aspects
Mostly a good product, this drapery rod is up and holding some very heavy antique drapes. Functions well and looks fine. The issue was the two metal supports in the middle of the rod are not designed to hold the weight and they easily pop apart. I fixed it by drilling both of the supports to put a screw in each to secure the rod to the middle supports. Issue resolved but this should be better designed in the first place.

They will get the job done
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I got these for my DIY Stage. Easy to install strong enough to hold my curtains. Still waiting on my order of pinch pleats. But for the time being using my old curtains. Had to buy clips. But over all I'm very happy with this product. It add alot to my stage.Updated I've got my pinch pleated and the the rod can hold heavy set curtains.

Good product!
Product worked great, just as advertised. I was surprised at how easy it was to change the side to draw the cord. They generally come with the cord being drawn from the right side.

Happy with traverse rod but instructions could be better.
I am glad we were replacing a traverse rod instead of installing it new. Directions were very hard to follow. But we had the previous brackets to reference so that was very helpful. Rod works great on 120" window. Instructions showed a middle support, which was not included. But it did have 4 other supports - we used 3 of them since the original rod had 3 supports. Happy with finished product.
