Students use this interactive hands-on kit to help construct the digestive tract organ-by-organ. This colorful and engaging kit includes pieces representing the organs and accessory organs of digestion. A special addition is the nine microorganisms that infect various of the kit’s organs. These include influenza virus, Salmonella, Cholera, and Streptococcus bacteria, a tapeworm, and a Giardia organism. These can be used to match to the organs they infect and stimulate discussion of sanitation, epidemiology and more! Bonus: a heart and two kidneys are included, as well as a close-up picture of a villus and one of alveoli.
