Silk-épil 9 Wet & Dry

I am a first time epillator user and I'm giving this product five stars with an honest review. No free products, discounts etc were offered to me by anyone. First I will say that most of the reviews are accurate. I was well prepared for my first epil experience because I had read so many great reviews. Thanks everyone!! I just want to remind you, this product plucks hairs, it does not cut them. This was the selling point for me because of my skin condition and how sensitive I am to razors or cutting devices. This is the only product on the market with as little metal as it is composed of. My skin thanks Braun! People who claimed the first time was the most painful, were 100% accurate. I have now used my epil 9 three times and each time is less painful. I have only used this on my legs and armpits so far. The armpits were VERY sensitive. If this is your first time using an epillator I suggest the following: 1) have a glass of wine. (21 & older.) 2) take a hot soak or use moist hot towels to open up your pores, the hairs pull easier this way. 3) dry off well and use baby powder for any tacky feelings left in the hairy area. (You can use this wet, but it seems like it does a better job dry.) 4) start with your legs if it's your first time. Don't stay too long on one spot. Move the epil around the entire area. This will wake up your pain receptors and get your brain to do its job to help desentistize you. After you sort of skim the entire area go back section by section and it won't hurt as bad as the initial touchdown. If you need to take a break in one area, move on to a new one. When you go back, it will hurt a little less. If that feels okay you might be ready for your arm pits. 5) for your arm pits, definitely DO NOT pass up on heating your pits to open up those pores!!! Spend a bit more time here than with your legs. Have some aloe ready for soothing and don't be bummed if you cannot make it through. You'll get there! Keep in mind that any hair that were not present during thre first plucking will need to surface. You'll have a couple uncomfortable first rounds, but once you've epillated every hair they all grow back slower and finer. You will achieve smooth legs, but not necessarily after the first time you try this. It really does get easier. I'm hooked and happy that this does exactly as it's advertised. Everyone has different pain thresh-holds. This product might not be for anyone. The best way to describe the feeling the first time would probably be, "A hot wave of pinches," Rolling accross the hair area. It's fast...and the quicker your move along the better. For me, it's worth it! No more dealing with hair every day wasting my money on one razor brand after the next trying to find something compatible with my skin. This product does not give me any issues, no lost sleep for itchy rashes, no weird in-grown hairs. I'm very happy with the results. I hope this helps!

Amazon tells me I purchased this epilator at the beginning of 2016 and it is now nearing the end of 2020! I didn't realize how long I've had it until I came to look at purchasing a new one... Mine is starting to die, it is no longer holding its charge well, so I am going to buy a replacement... but an almost 5 year lifespan is pretty good. It might even have lasted longer if I had not dropped it a few times over the last year or so lol. And it might be smarter to not store it in the shower like I did. Anyway, this epilator works really great on thick hair. I use it on my armpits... the first few times it felt like being stabbed by a knife, but you start to get used to it. Now I epilate my armpits every few days (but I only need to once a week) and it really doesn't hurt at all. My pits get way smoother than they ever did when I used to shave them and there is never any stubble because the hair grows back tapered, not with a blunt cut-off edge. I do not use this on my legs because it just would take way too long, and not offer great results. I have fine hair on my legs. Shaving is super fast but epilating took a long time, and more often than not, the hairs would just break off instead of be pulled out completely. My legs never ever felt smooth and soft after epilating and it took such a long time to do them. And worse, because it would not pull every hair out, the hairs didn't even grow back slower. It was like a worse version of shaving. So I do not use this on my legs, I just shave for like 20 seconds per leg and I'm good. Epilating them honestly took like an hour sometimes. But since it's so dang awesome for my armpits, I'm definitely going to repurchase and continue using it, I will never go back to shaving my armpits! I also use it on my hands and knuckles sometimes, I have dark hair and light skin so I like to remove the hair in my hands. It breaks some of those hairs too but does a pretty good job. I use it on my stomach too because I get a couple stray hairs there. I absolutely love it!!

I've been using the Philipis Satinelle for 5 months and it was the best thing I ever did. I used to shave every single day, because my body hair would grow really fast, when I started with the little epilator it was just to see how much better then shave would be, after testing for a while I decided to get q better and bigger one. After reading a lot of reviews everywhere I bought this one for 122$ here on Amazon and I started to use on the same day I got it. The Braun Silk-epil 9 is awesome. I was using another epilator for a while so my skin was adapt to the "pain" and this feels even less, it's just a tiny pinch. This one is bigger so I cut so my time now. I can do full legs, full arms, stomach and underarm in less then 20 min. I absolutely loved it! I have a really high tolerance for pain so it can be that, but I try to use it when my hair is about a second day of growth and it hurts nothing and it is faster. The only con I have is that I was really looking forward to use this in the shower but feels like it's not getting the hair out, so I just gave up and did it dry. I usually do it on Sunday and have very smooth skin for at least 4 days, and when the hair starts to grow is usually thinner so Is saving me lots of time. Love it! If it hurts for you, just keep trying and using in small areas, take your time, it will get better.

I was a bit hesitant since I had heard how painful epilators are, but I was tired of shaving my legs and armpits all the time! And it is true what they say, it hurts like the devil! And the first few times I tried it I was screaming and had to take several breaks (I don't have the highest pain tolerance). But after a while its not as bad and I've learned to suck it up now for a few minutes until you get through it, because it is so worth it! The "sensitive areas cap" is great for the armpit area too. I love having long lasting smooth legs and underarms! Definitely worth a buy :)

Perfecta. He estado más de 10 años con la Silkepil 7 muy contenta. Y ésta es aún mejor. Atrapa bellos aún más pequeños. La recomiendo. Me ha llegado antes de lo previsto.

s'utilise très facilement, peu de poils repoussent sous la peau, je ne l'ai utilisé que 5-6 fois et déjà, sur plusieurs zones de mes jambes, plus aucun poil ne poussent. Un peu douloureux sur le haut des cuisses et au maillot, mais je suis douillette. la lumière intégrée est vraiment très pratique. Espérons qu'il tienne dans le temps, j'avais mon ancien pendant 20 ans !

Avevo il modello precedente che dopo diversi anni ed un intenso utilizzo mi ha dato a giusta ragione, il ben servito. Gli epilatori della Braun risultano a mio avviso i migliori. Quest' ultimo modello elimina la peluria in maniera rapida, precisa, anche se il pelo è corto. I peli in seguito crescono come quando si fa la ceretta ovvero morbidi. Riguardo al fatto se si possa o meno avvertire dolore non saprei, io uso apparecchi simili da anni e mi ci sono oramai abituata, per quanto mi riguarda lo passo ovunque anche in zona bikini. Il consiglio che posso dare è quello di non far crescere troppa peluria, in quel caso potreste avvertire maggiore fastidio, passarlo di tanto in tanto. In definitiva io lo approvo. Da anni non faccio più uso né di ceretta né tantomeno di lametta
