Best average front-clip harness for most cases.
This is my favorite front-clip harness. It's the honda civic of harnesses--no frills, doesn't cost a fortune, works well, and lasts forever.I like that it has no martingale loops. It does not constrict with leash pressure.I like the low-profile, simple design. No unnecessary straps, no unnecessary bulk.I like that most dogs are comfortable in it with very little acclimation period.I like that the plastic buckle is set away from the side rings, so it's under the dog instead of behind the dog's elbow.I like that it uses metal adjustment hardware.Note that the harness's performance and safety depends on a proper fit. The fitting guides on softtouch's website are good--check those out. It also helps tremendously, especially in the beginning, to clip the leash to both the collar and the harness ring. That prevents the harness front from drooping down onto the dog's legs as you play around with the right fit.Note also that no harness, collar, halter, etc. is going to make a dog cheerfully walk at heel on a loose leash with his attention on you. Training will. The device is just a temporary crutch (a phenomenally useful crutch). This device will give you power steering as you work through your training plan, but it's not magic, nor is any device.

Overall works well, but needs some padding.
Pros: Easy to put on and take off, definitely helps control my dogs pulling and changing direction quicklyCons: The materials are not very forgiving and chafes my dog under her legs and at the buckle. I'm looking in to ways to add fleece material around the under chest part of the harness to protect her skin or looking in to other harnesses with velvet or fleece material around the legs and buckle.

Excellent harness!
I have owned the version of this harnes with plastic pieces and they can break. I was a little concerned at first the the metal would've unconfortabke but that does not seem to be the case. The blue color is very attractive. Overall effective in preventing pulling and highly recommended.

Simple
I've used this same type of harness at the animal shelter I volunteer at. It's easy to use and the dogs typically do really well with it.

Didn't work very well for my dog
He backed right out of this harness one day when he was frightened. It was on as tight as was recommended and it was the correct size for him. We switched to a martingale collar which works much better for him.

The only thing that keeps my dog from pulling and choking herself! A stray cat or squirrel can walk by and she just tenses up but won't pull. I can't tell if she hates it or not, but it saves my arm from being pulled out of the socket. I tried to work with a dog trainer to solve this problem. $300 later, she still pulled. This solved the problem for a lot less money.

Works well My Golden pulled a lot when she was being walked by a child, so we ordered this. It seems to help with the pulling a lot. I think my dog still pulls , but she's not as comfortable pulling now and she's easier to manage if she does. My dog is 65lbs. And I got her the medium, which fits great. Her measurements were 27".
