Great clarity in picture/monitor.
I purchased this camera along with the rear view mirror. The instructions were beyond my talents so I hired the local "Automobile Audio/visual Co ". He is a mobile company so he came to my house today to do the job. It took him 3 1/2 hours to do the job but he did it correctly and precise. All wires are hidden within the wiring harness and they are soldered where they needed to be. He put my thermometer sensor in front of the radiator where it should be. I love the clarity of the picture/monitor in the mirror. I only had it installed today but it looks great and works great. It looks like it was factory installed. A real good looking mirror. The only problem and the reason I only gave it 4 stars is because the red power plug was not in the camera box so he had to cut off the other plug and solder the wires together. He also knew to cut the white loop wire to reverse the image to the correct way. All in all both the mirror and camera are good products. I recommend both items.Update.........It quit working this morning! Everything else is working, back up lights, power windows, radio, etc..... just no monitor, temperature reading or compass. I really liked it when it worked. I contacted customer service and will let you all know how they handle it.So, Master Tailgaters has excellent customer service. They suggested having my installer come back and see if it was a blown fuse that is in the hardwiring kit. If not, they would surely refund me. Well, it was the fuse. My installer said that the 2 amp fuse (included) was not enough for the monitor and compass/temperature display. He replaced it with a 5 amp fuse and everything works great. It is a great product. I contacted Master Tailgaters again and suggested that they use a larger fuse for their product.

Good looks and well built.
I installed this camera on my 2012 Toyota Tundra Crew Max Base Model. Master Tailgaters did have the factory style camera integrated with the handle, but I wanted something a little more affordable. I paired this with the Master Tailgaters mirror with screen and manual dimming. Very happy with image quality and product is stout. I do need to put different hardware to hold the plate just had the old screws on hand. The camera power wires were soldered into my reverse light wiring. From there that leads into a red plug that joins it to the camera. From the camera side there is also a yellow plug for the RCA that you run to the front of the vehicle for the video to the mirror. The RCA has a red/orange wire along with it. I attached that additional wire to the green cable on the mirror harness. At the camera side I tied the other end of the red/orange wire into the positive reverse light wire. I extended the wire so it could reach that point. The camera is being used in the rear so I had to cut the white loop on the camera wiring to reverse the image. Easy to do. I will update this review if anything comes up.

Good Backup camera, test before cutting wire loops.
I have bought this camera 3 times for different vehicles over the years and have been satisfied with them. This one was a bit weird though. The instructions say to cut the green wire loop to enable grid lines and cut the white wire loop to reverse the image to use as a backup camera. When installing mine, I cut both wire loops because I wanted the grid lines and was using it as a backup camera. When I put the car in reverse there were no grid lines and the image was front facing. I had to go back and reconnect the wire loops and now it displays grid lines and the image is reversed as it should be. Not sure why or how this happened, the last 2 that I bought didn't have this issue. Good camera now that I got it sorted out. I advise testing yours before cutting the wire loops.

Well builded and very good construction on both the mirror and camera.
Idea for backing up to a trailer and getting the ball align up with the trailer's tongue! The auto dimming mirror works great. The compass and the temperature read outs are very accurate. I give this product two thumbs up. Also, The remote is very handy in setting up the offset parameters.

Poor camera, cheap build
I purchased this License Plate Frame Camera to add backup cam to my new Alpine head unit. Purple palm trees and bushes? Plus the camera tilt adjustment screws are very poorly made. The included hex key wouldn't fit. Same results with the replacement cam they sent me.I replaced this Master Tailgaters crap unit with an "eRapta ERT02" backup camera so I now have a beautiful, true-color picture.
