Next Level Felting: Professional needle-felting techniques to take your felted wool creations to the next level.

I nearly didn't buy this excellent book after reading negative reviews by people whom I suspect had just glanced at the book and not read it at all!!! I took a chance and bought it anyway, and am very pleased I did. This book is worth buying even if only see how to make the most realistic looking eyes. All are made out of wool, even the tiny bird ones which are usually just beads. It also shows you how to attach wool nepps (tiny felt balls you can buy pre-made or make your own) on the fins of the humpback whale and a good section on making whiskers. I have a LOT of good books on needlefelting and have never seen how to attach nepps, how to make such beautiful eyes or how to do whiskers in ANY of them. To be sure there is not a lot of basic details about needles, wool etc but this IS next level and presumably you know all that already. There are only 5 projects, the rabbit on the front cover, a harbour seal, a wren, another rabbit and a humpback whale, but there is plenty of inspiration with pictures (and a few details of the armature used) of an amazing life sized raven, and pictures of an octopus, bear, owls and other birds.LOVELY BOOK - BUY IT!!!

Really not that impressed. As other people have said, there aren't that many projects contained in the book. Other books have more and, crucially, more interesting projects. Does contain illustrations of some truly wonderful creations............ AND DOESN'T TELL YOU HOW TO MAKE THEM! Instead, the author chooses to concentrate on simple animal shapes - glorified blobs, really - such as a whale, and applies the techniques being demonstrated, to those. Some advanced techniques, yes, but could do with more advanced projects to match - especially for this sort of money.

I believe that the title description is very misleading. It is definitely not a book for professionals. I would grade the difficulty of the projects just above basic for people with little felting experience. There are better YouTube videos about felting. Also, the tips at the book are repeated.

A really useful book with tips and hints on how to progress to the next level. Step by step clear pictures also help. Well written and I recommend this to anyone doing 3d needle felting.

This is a fabulous book, I cant wait to get started but have a few craft fairs I need stock for, I will get a cover for it as I don't want to damage it.

I was ready to return this when saw how slim book was for the money, however upon going through the book decided it was very goo, clear instructions and lots of good tips..still to expensive though!
