Very Impressive Product
So let me start by saying I was torn between this product and the Orange Whip. I agonized over which one to go with. (I really didn't want to purchase both of them.) I came away very happy with choosing the SKLZ Trainer. I am a 5 handicap and am writing this review from my perspective. I have previously sampled the Orange Whip in a local golf store. The counterbalance weight at the end of the whip was an interesting feature. After playing around with it I determined it was more of a tempo device then anything else. Sure it will help you somewhat with your swing plane, all of the tempo trainers will. I ordered the 40 inch model with a focus towards tightening up those couple of loose iron shots that occur during my rounds. By holding it out at a slight angle, I can simulate swinging with a longer club or swing it normally for iron shots. The first thing I noticed was the quality of construction. This is a well crafted item that isn't going to just fall apart on you. The ball at the end of the trainer is big enough to not get stuck in your golf bag if you want to take it to the course with you. Swinging this trainer is great for ingraining proper feel of tempo, swing path, and understanding where the clubhead is during the swing. It's also great for working on things like rotating your arms through impact. It's easy to take smooth swings and feel your body react to it. The weight allow for you to naturally progress with your body moving in the correct sequence on the backswing and downswing. After working on sections of my swing, I switched to an iron and tested it out...very satisfying. Using this product daily will help you to groove a swing that is desireable, and more importantly, repeatable. For the price of this product it can't be beat. Take it for what it's worth. For those that have trouble trying to figure out how to use this product, it's very simple... 1. Start at your normal address position. 2. Waggle the club slightly forward using your hands, arms, and shoulders. 3. Move the club into your backswing. 4. Slight pause at the top to let the ball fully catch up to you. 5. Smoothly swing and feel your weight transfer to your front side as you complete your downswing into a full finish. 6. Rinse and repeat.

Gold Flex is a Difference Maker.
The Gold Flex training is an excellent training aid. I bought it early in the year before golf season and swung it 50-100x a day and use it before every round at the range. This year my distances improved and I lowered my index from upper to lower teens. I did do other things to improve, like drills to flatten my wrist through impact, but I think frequent use strengthened my core golf muscles, widened my swing and helped my tempo. I also noticed a lot of these aids showing up at our club. I chose the 40” over longer versions because I thought I would swing more in control but also because I use it at home and I like my furniture. I got one for my bag, one for my home and one for my wife, who is a club champion. She insisted it improved my game. Regardless of whether you believe it will improve your swing, it is great just for warming up.

Very effective swing trainer
I really struggle with a good tempo/rhythm in my golf swing and I'm always on the lookout for something to help. I bought this when I saw a lower price. I used to own a Whippy Tempomaster club that I felt helped my swing and I thought this might as well although you don't hit balls with this training aid. The trainer doesn't feel that heavy, but swinging this even a dozen times gets your blood pumping a bit. I want to ingrain a good tempo, but I could see this building some strength as well. It certainly does help with tempo and overswinging although I'm still struggling to carry the feel to the course. My swing is John Daly long without his rhythm and athletic ability. On a whim I decided to combine this swing trainer with the SwingGyde (actually a cheap knockoff of it). My thought was that the Gold Flex trainer would help with the tempo while the Swingyde would keep me from overswinging and cocking my wrists too much. So far it seems more effective as a combo. It almost restricts my swing too much, but I think that's the feedback I need. I'm still not swinging as well as I'd like, but my playing partners have been commenting that my swing looks so much smoother and my misses have been smaller.

Game changer
This simple device has me crushing the ball. Often, many of us get fast with our golf swing. As we get fast, our game goes sideways. The more sideways our game goes, the faster we go thinking we are correcting, but we are really compounding the issue. This product is a great warm up tool, but mainly gives you are watermark of tempo and weight shift. Seeing this a few times before a round, and you'll have an idea of what tempo should feel like on the course. It helps groove a torso turn and reinforces the swing plane. It keeps your weight shifting, but not sliding back to front. It helps maintain your balance, while grooving a solid swing. I shot a 76 after using this for about a month, but felt like I left a lot out there. Hit 15 out of 18 greens in regulation. This thing is a must buy.

I never leave home without it
Honestly I was very skeptical and didn't expect a whole lot. I bought this for one reason and one reason only: A couple of weeks before buying this I pulled my rhombus? muscle in my upper back. The pain was significant and while just swinging a club didn't cause a great deal of pain acutally hitting balls was just two painful. I mostly bought this as a low impact way to rehab my back and keep my pulled muscle stretched out while healing. I am now 100% sold on the value of having one of these and I have recomended it to numerous friends that are getting up there in years. This swing trainer has done a few very valuable things for my swing: I am 52 and have over the years lost some flexibility in my back and especially in my shoulders. For the past 3 to 4 years I have been unable to get the club horizontal at the top of my backswing so I had lost some swing speed and distance due to the loss of flexibility. While my back was recovering I would swing this for about 10 to 15 minutes 2 or 3 times a day for about 2 1/2 weeks. Once my back was better and I began hitting balls again I found that some things had changed. Once again my club shaft is horizontal at the top with full swings. As I said I am 52... I am also 5'6" and after using this a 7i off a tee on a par 3 is about 165 where as it used to be 150 yds. I also have always struggled with tempo and with starting from the top. This has helped me so much with rhythm, tempo and developing lag. For me this is a must have and I never go to the course without it. I warm up with it before a round and often will swing it several times at the tee box to warm up while waiting for the fairway to clear.

Good swing trainer
I bought this for my son, with the goal of helping his timing and strength. So far, I have been very please with the purchase. The trainer is made with high quality materials, and feels very solid. It is easy for him to sing in the yard, and I have noticed it is helping his tempo. It also gives him something slightly weighted to swing while he works on his shoulder turn. The 3 main uses for this trainer are 1. Practice tempo. Swinging the trainer for 20 minutes or so a few times a week or at the range will help you feel the speed of your swing. 2. Warming up. Before a round or practice, this is a great tool to get loose. 3. Strength training. I put this last because if this is your only goal, you may want a slightly heavier club to swing. Swinging this daily will help build good muscle memory and strength in the right muscles. He is 11, and the 40" size is perfect for him, and will last him for a few years. I am a little over 6', and while I can use it, I will likely get myself the 48" version soon.

Great Training Aid - Poor Construction
I really like the SKLZ Gold Flex Golf Swing Trainer Warm-Up Stick and try to use it everyday to work on my flexibility and swing plane. It's cheaper than the Orange Whip and I guess I found out why. The grip doesn't appear to be glued onto the shaft. I have to stop and re-position the grip after every 10 swings or so because the shaft starts to slip out of the grip. I'm disappointed and will have to take it somewhere to get it glued.

Fixed My Swing in 5 Minutes
I can score in the low 80s to the high 90s depending on how things are going. My biggest problems are tempo and a tendency to devolve into a reverse pivot (weight shifting backward at impact) I can know these are my problems, video record the problems, and listen to my instructor tell me not to repeat them, but I could still go weeks unable to change. 5 minutes with the Sklz Swing Trainer at the driving range totally set me right. It gives you the body feedback of a proper swing. The flex/lag in the shaft naturally rectifies your tempo, and focusing on weight shift (rather than hitting a ball) for a few swings ingrains that feeling in your body as well. Best $60 I’ve ever spent on golf. I bought the shorter one and it worked for fixing my driver as well as my irons If tempo/rhythm or weight shift are Among your problems, get one of these.
