Excellent choice for bass guitar practice
Hi Butch here, used my wife’s account to place the order. I use the Phil Jones Bass headset for bass guitar practice mixed with music from my computer. The bass is boomy and the mids to highs are crisp and clear. The headset is extremely comfortable and light weight. The only other headset I’ve used for bass was a set of Ultrsone’s I purchased 15 years ago and the bass was sort of muffled. The Phil Jones set was definitely a big upgrade! Time will tell how they hold, but I take good care of them so they should last.

Bass players these are the ones, But,
Wow, I noticed this product had some bad reviews. These paired with my Phil Jones BIG HEAD Bass guitar headphone amp are extremely impressive. If you plug these into a cheap amp or audio source I’m sure you can guess what the results will be, no set of headphones will cure that. At first I wasn’t impressed with sound quality. I knew that the drivers would need some break in time. After 4 hours of 20-40hz bass frequency cycling via YouTube they sound amazing. The drivers produce nice low frequencies, clean mids, and nice crisp highs. I highly recommend these if you’re a bass player looking for headphones to use in a play along situation such as using Smart phone or smart device paired with a quality bass amplifier. Comfort is excellent.

Distortion free bass down to low B
I'm using these with a PJB Bass Buddy, and they do a good job on producing tight bass sound down to an open low B. Fairly light and comfortable to wear. Sound I solation is ok. No distortion even at relatively high volume, not even on that low B. Nice.Build quality is not all that great it seems.Wish there had been a pouch or case for these included.I initially bought a pair of Edifier headphones with the same model number at half the cost. Although they look the same, they are very different; they had major trouble with any bass notes. We will see how these hold up over time, but so far they sound great and work well for what they're meant for: bass practice or studio headphones.

The bass players best friend!
Phil Jones hit a home run for bass players with the H-850s. Finally, headphones that accentuate the bass line. These are a dream to use in practice sessions. They are light and the pads are comfortable even after a couple of hours. Because they were built lightweight, they feel fragile and need to handled accordingly. The cable length is a bit short. An extension cable cured that issue. For the price, the H-850 fits the bill as a lightweight, comfortable headphone with the bass player in mind.

They are great if you have to wear a while
They are great if you have to wear a while, light weight, and I am generally careful with my equipment anyway.Pros! Bass Comes thru much better then using in ear monitors, making me finally happy with the avioms we are now usingCons - When we have 8 or 9 sings the tone starts to get muddy, Even without so many vocals, the sounds is not as crisp as I would like

Not worth the price.
Where do I begin? I’ll try a truncated version. These were a total disappointment as a bass player, trying to get a clean sound at a moderate level. I have a set of Sanson phones with size 50mm drivers that handle lower bass frequencies far better than these at 1/3 the cost! These are going back, extremely disappointing. I really wanted to like these phones but they’re just not doing a sufficient job of providing the sound quality that I need.

Not impressed
I guess for $100 I wanted to be blown out of the water by these headphones. My experience with them is that they very low volume regardless of how much I turned-up the pick-ups or the master volume on my 50W Fender Rumble Amp. I found the lower registers to be quite muddy as well, as if they speakers were getting overwhelmed. Maybe I got a shoddy pair? I ultimately went with a different product, $20 cheaper, with which I am very pleased. Customer service was initially aggravating, but was corrected in fairly short order.

Great for bass, but lacking in the highs
Works great for bass practice and monitoring, but don’t use them to listen to the final mix.
