Newhouse Lighting NHCLP-OL-WH Olivia LED Clamp Light Desk Lamp with Flexible Gooseneck, 3 Brightness Levels & 3 Color Modes, White

This Newhouse Lighting LED lamp is the perfect dorm or kids' room light. Unfortunately, I don't entirely mean that as a compliment. Let me explain ...Pros:+ The lamp gets the light right. The light is smooth, thanks to the diffuser over the LEDs.+ The 3000K light is a nice color - "bright warm light" as it says on the box.+ It's about the right brightness for a close-up lamp - 300 lumens which is about the equivalent of 30 watts of incandescent. And as an LED, it doesn't get hot, and doesn't warm you up.+ The clamp holds very well.+ The neck of the light is strong enough to stay in any position you bend it. So it can be used in almost any configuration.Issues:- The switch for the lamp is on the cord, about 6" down. So depending on where you have it, you may be fishing around behind or beside the furniture it's attached to, trying to find the switch.- The clamp seems to work well, but it's such a prominent feature (4.5" D x 3" W) they should have given some thought to making it more attractive.Also, to me it would have been nice if the neck were a color other than silver - say, the same color as the head of the lamp. But that's a matter of personal taste.Overall, it could be easier to use the switch and the lamp could be more attractive. The lamp head itself looks good, the neck less so, the clamp not so much. So, it's the perfect dorm room light, but a little less perfect in another setting.Luckily, you can decide for yourself about the looks, and think about whether having the switch on the cord will work for you. The light functions well and works better in a number of respects than other similar lights.The clamp is about 1" deep and 3" wide, if you're trying to judge whether it will attach where you want the lamp to attach.UPDATE November 2015: I'd still assess the lamp just as I described. I still don't love the clamp (though it is very strong). But for the right use, it's a great lamp - so I'm raising the rating from 4 to 5 stars. I want to emphasize two things:1) The light from this lamp is very nice, especially compared to other LED lights. They really got the light right. It's a nice, bright, warm color. It's very smooth. The bulb is a single, glowing, lit surface - not an annoying row of bright, distracting LEDs like so many other lamps.2) The neck is very good at bending into many useful shapes, and holding in place.I liked this enough that I bought another one for our kids room.

This lamp was very well thought out by its designers.There’s a choice of 3 brightness levels AND 3 different color temperatures!I’m using it on a workbench for electronics detail work but it could just as easily be a sewing lamp, study lamp etc.The very flexible gooseneck allows me to get the light exactly where it’s needed and from there I can change the brightness and color temp to suit the work.The lamp comes with a clamp that has suction cups on each edge which do a fantastic job of adhering to my melamine shelf on my workbench (see pic)…….I chose white as it blends with the shelf it’s attached to.Keep in mind that this lamp will NOT automatically turn on if you plug it’s AC adapter into a switched outlet.To turn it on you’ll need to touch the power icon on the units control area (see pic)I’ve seen comments about people obsessing on how long it will last and I don’t see that as a problem….first of all, it’s guaranteed for 5 years and secondly, it’s $19, so if you need this type of light for your work area, give it a try. I think you’ll be happy with it.I’m very happy with my purchase.

I purchased this light for my tool box as I am always working in equipment racks that have less than adequate lighting. I normally wear a headlamp but sometimes I just want to light the entire rack. The gooseneck is very sturdy and does not fall or walk once the lamp is in place. The clamp itself has suction cups for flat surfaces and stay locked in place even when clamped on a vertical bar.The only issue I have with this light is the color temperature. I knew that it was going to be similar to an incandescent but I when it arrived it is very orange/yellow. Although it does not put out a pure white light it works for my application when working in dark equipment rooms and racks. The lumen output is good and it does throw a lot of light for its small size. It fits in my tool box so it will probably stay with me for a long time.

I use this light on a baby changing table. The clip has enough grip to hold in place, and easy to adjust if needed. The switch is in-line of the power cable, approximately 6" from the clip, with approximately 5' to the wall plug. I like the light as it is a very simple on/off, flexible and clamps easily. The switch does not have adhesive or screw holes to mount. I used double sided adhesive for wall mount pictures, and it works great.

My daughter has this at her desk where she does homework and crafts. We have had this for over a year and it still works beautifully. It’s very adjustable and the brightness of the light is great for detail work.

The media could not be loaded.  The light can go quite bright, a few different lighting options like warm or super bright, etc. The cord is quite long. The clip is very strong and has suction cups that are also very strong. I’m able to place the light just about anywhere for extra lighting.

We bought this for our daughters’ bunk bed and they work great. They stay in place, easy to use, cord is long enough. The goose neck is easy to position and the light is bright. Would buy again.

This is a nice little lamp for my bedroom when I am watching tv in the evening. Even on the bright it gives enough light to be able to see if I need to get up. If I place it on the headboard directly overhead, I may be able to read while laying there. Its a strong and sturdy, the neck is flexible but holds its position well. The clamp is very strong and holds onto a surface. It was worth the purchase for me.

Its a very good LED. Its producing Yellow light rather than moon white led, and that's the only disappointment after i have received this.The item is as per description provided and can be easily attached using the Jaw Clip provided.

With these new LED lights it is hard to know how bright '3 Watts' or '300 lumens' is, and I thought that this lamp would only be bright enough to make for a decent reading light, so I was surprised, and really impressed, when I turned on the light and saw that it was as bright as the bigger light that I have been using (The bigger light has an older style incandescent bulb rated at 60 Watts). The really nice thing with this light though, when compared to most desk lamps or standing lamps, is that is can be easily adjusted and the light can be aimed where you need/want the light to be.Being a clamp light you do need something to attach it to and I think the use of suction cups inside the clamps is a great idea because you get a strong clamp that also sticks to smooth surfaces. I found that older style clamp lamps would slide around when mounted vertically whereas this LED Flex Clamp Lamp stays in place no matter where I tried it. This also means that I won't be scratching the smooth surface like some of my old clamp lamps did.They say that the bulb is good for 30,000 hours! (I can't say how true that claim is, but I don't plan on leaving my light on for four straight years to find out) and, from my experience, most of the non-LED bulbs that I have used around the home need to be replaced a lot more frequently than that.Another benefit to me is that there is sure to be some savings on the hydro bill if I am using 3 watts bulb vs. the 60 watts of power that the other lamp was using (I don't know if a 3 Watt bulb only uses 1/20 the power of a 60 watt bulb, but overall the power usage should be less and any money savings makes this light even more inexpensive than it already is).If it matters, fully extended lamp is approximately 20 inches long, and the cord comes in 2 sections for a total length of about 7 feet.Overall, while this lamp isn't designed to light up a big room, it works amazingly well in a small room, as a desk/reading lamp or maybe as a versatile light when doing home or car repairs.**Update: Like it so much I just bought another one.

Great night reading lamp with wide mouth clamp for bed frame. My headboard is about 1.5” wide and this fits well. Not sure it could extend beyond that depth, currently it’s stretched to max.I use this for night reading so I don’t disturb my partner. Flexible neck is great and light is perfect. The off/on toggle works with my frame but might be difficult to access with solid headboard. Highly recommend.
